Dear Friends and faithful supporters,
Praise the Lord! There has been so much going on in the mission field here in Brazil – it’s been 24/7/365 literally! Jesus is so good and He helps us so very much! There are sometimes many upsets, but Jesus works them out.
Recently, a disgruntled post office worker from Columbia, TN closed many post office boxes. Ours was one of them. You may have received your donation returned to you. I called the post office at least 8 or so times, and then I asked Bishop Henry Mobley to talk to the person in charge. Much of our mail has been “returned to sender” -bills and checks we were supposed to receive leaving us without money on the mission field. Jesus provided us a loan to carry us through and we are very thankful for that! I’m so sorry for the inconvenience but it would help immensely if you can please resend your offering - I sure do appreciate it!!
I’m feeling much better health-wise - Jesus is blessing. I’m too busy on the mission field to be sick. A good prayer meeting and the problem is solved. The cardiologist said the heart is good -thank the Lord!!
The Lord willing on Sunday, Dec. 15th, two souls are being baptized and on Sunday, Dec. 22nd, six more souls are to be baptized. Praise God!
The devil fights hard, but Jesus makes us more than victorious!
Pastor Peter from northwest Brazil said Jesus healed many folks as they were seeking and worshipping Jesus. Miracles are happening daily -thank the Lord!!
Four new church workers were ordained to be local church helpers on Sunday December 1st for the Contagem church.
This last Saturday we had a wonderful church service at the Larangeiras church. Then Sunday in the Contagem church we had a wonderful move of Jesus. Monday night we had a prayer meeting, and Tuesday a wonderful church service at the Laranjeiras church with communion. Also Wednesday we had a wonderful church service in Bairro Amazonas. On Thursday, we were at the Imbiruçu church and tonight were looking for a wonderful time in the Lord in Sereno church.
And that is not an unusual church schedule for us – we are always working for the Lord! Our Jesus is wonderful!
Last - but not least - I want you all to know that we sure do appreciate your love and dedication to God’s work in Brazil! This coming year we’re expecting many people from America to come visit.

Dear Friends and Partners in Missions for God’s work in Brazil – Thank you SO MUCH for your investment in this vast harvest field!
Just as some of you seemed to be having a conference, we also just had a wonderful church conference here. The presence of the Lord was amazing! Many were healed and filled with the Holy Ghost. Thank you, Jesus! We saw many pastors from far away and near that we don’t usually see. God’s presence has shown up and out! It’s so wonderful to be in His presence!
Sunday night my wife wanted to stop in and visit a long-time friend that was recently blinded some- how. With so many things to get done, it didn’t work out for my wife to go. But the sister came to church expecting a miracle. After church service, when most people had left, my wife spent time witnessing and telling her numerous miracles and my wife prayed for her and Jesus opened her eyes!
Oh, our Jesus is still faithful!
After laboring in Brazil for 31 and a half years, our Brazil churches anointed me Bishop. Rev. Dan Christman from Mishawaka, IN and Rev. Reg Taylor from Virginia were in Brazil and suggested for Bishop Elifas to anoint me. It was a big surprise for me! Thank you so very much! I’ve been doing the work without the title and it’s not changing anything but I want to stay humble and do Jesus’ will.
I’ve been busy all over Brazil caring for the whole country, and we have churches in 8 states in Brazil plus Bolivia and Kenya that the Lord helped us build.
Jesus requires fruit from us and I want to keep Jesus happy - the only way we can make it to heaven is doing His will. Just keeping going and getting the work of Jesus done. In Heaven only servants make it in. And it’s my desire to please Jesus. We were going to wait for next year, but we will also have an official ordination service.
The work of God is growing! We had another 25 thousand tracks printed to get out to our pastors to take with them to their churches to spread the gospel.
We’re struggling to keep everything going in Brazil as best as we possibly can. The American economy has taken a toll on us in Brazil, too, but Jesus can bless us in a down economy.
Pastor Joao Baptista had to leave the afore-mentioned conference early as he depends on bus transportation. So, if he had a vehicle, he could also bring people with Him. He lives in a remote area of Mateus Lemes and pastors the church there. He also has numerous other preaching points with many saints that are not able to come to the main church in Mateus Lemes due to distance and lack of bus fare etc. Help us pray for a vehicle for him.
In the very poverty-stricken city of Jaiba is a church we started years ago. It is growing strong! We can buy a building there for half of the market value so we’re praying about this situation - please pray with us. The building is worth $14,550 and we can get it for about $7,300. Real estate just doesn’t sell in that area. We have saints there, but they earn extremely little with many living on under $200 per month. So extremely sad!
The new Maceio church is almost complete and the number of saints has increased. We would like to dedicate it on November 16-17, 2024.
My father and mother being gone has made life a lot different. My children were born in America.
We wanted to register my granddaughters as American as we love America and it is our background. But I’m going to need to apply for a green card for them if my granddaughters are to become a American citizen. I’m so appreciative of my father and mother getting me an American birth certificate. I was so heart-broken when the American consulate told me our granddaughters had to get a green card to later become American.
We have problems but Jesus always helps us out.
We are currently adding to the parsonage a guest bedroom with a bathroom, plus another bathroom to make a big room into a bedroom for visitors when they come. Being in south central Brazil, many pastors coming through need a place to stay and we always enjoy God’s people coming.
Prices have gone up so very much but I know Jesus will help us get this done.
Once again thanks so very much for your labor of love and sacrifice that enables us to have built the churches and helped our 71 pastors and those in the drug and alcohol rehabilitation center and the Children’s center. Last but not least, you have also helped us with the Bible schools and with purchasing literature to promote God’s work.
I want to thank the Lord for all the help from my children on the mission field.

Praise the Lord my friends! I pray you enjoyed a happy 4th of July! I thank Jesus for the wonderful churches and people of America. With all the problems America might have, it’s still the best country! I know people from all over the world who want to go to America!
This last month, we took our granddaughters to the American embassy to report their birth abroad. It has more “red tape” than I thought it would be, having been born in Brazil of American parents. It’s been a blessing to be able to travel back and forth as the Lord permits. However, my children were born in America and their children were born here in Brazil, so we’re having to jump through hoops we didn’t know about.
Jesus called me to the mission field of Brazil and my children are here. If it’s God’s will, He will call them to work for Him. In the meantime, I would like my grandchildren to be able to come to America, if it’s God’s will, and to have the opportunity to come to this wonderful country.
We don’t know what the future holds, but it’s been a blessing to be able to come to America to further help the kingdom of Jesus in Brazil.
This country has been blessed with the gospel of Jesus Christ because of America and its wonderful churches and people.
Some plant, some water and some reap and Jesus gives the increase! We have been planting churches and the gospel though your prayers and most generous support - thus we have been laborers together for the cause of Christ. Some go and some let go – and some help others go!
I appreciate you all so very much and you’re in my daily prayers.
While we are thankful for the rain – as it is usually a drought in Brazil, it has hampered our getting the work done on the six churches.
Jesus said the harvest is plentiful. It’s a wonderful time to work for Jesus as souls are hungry for Jesus. There’s revival all over Brazil! Just as in America, some people left during the pandemic but Jesus has brought others into the church.
We have many “irons in the fire” in Brazil.
We have assisted 71 lead pastors over the years and many are now self-supporting and established. And we also still have many other pastors that need help as they are getting started and starting new preaching points.
The children at the center are growing spiritually and physically – getting taller. Please pray for the children!
Please also pray for the drug and alcohol rehab center and the work being there. Our only hope is in Jesus. It’s so wonderful to know Him!

In Brazil, the population in 2022 was 215 million people!! Brazil is a huge country almost the size of the continental USA. Poverty is severe. But Jesus is faithful and doesn’t depend on the economy to bless us and help us.

It’s been another busy month here in Brazil and our Jesus is so amazing!
Bro Christman from Indiana has been a blessing to us with preaching the precious word of God here in Brazil. Lives are being changed!!
Here are a few words from Bro. Dan Christman:
It has been 13 years since I’ve been to Brazil. Some things have changed, but a lot of things are still the same - people still need Jesus. I thought things were bad in the United States with inflation and everything else that’s going on, but they are far worse in the country of Brazil. Their communist leader has created many problems for the people, but we all know the solution to this...Jesus! I stand behind what I’ve been saying all these years - I’ve never met a harder working missionary family than the Barbers. Their commitment to the people of Brazil to accept the Lord Jesus Christ is unwavering. If you would be interested in taking a mission trip, I can’t think of a greater place than to come to Brazil. You can visit some of the over 71 churches that he has built in his 31-year ministry. Their home is set up for multiple people to come and stay with them so you can avoid the expensive of a hotel. Even if you cannot come, please consider supporting them in some way - it will be seed well sewn! This past month I took my 15-year-old granddaughter, Layla and she loved it. We’re helping raise up the next generation with a heart toward the mission field. God bless you!
A good time to come to visit us in Brazil is January for warmer weather, or June for nice weather!
Pastor Juarez has been having church services in town. People are hungry for Jesus!
It was a big joy to talk with Wilbur and also see Jose Carlos from the rehab center. They were in the drug and alcohol rehabilitation, but Jesus turned their lives around! It was so good to see them doing well and hear of what Jesus has done for them!
Last week a 4 and a half feet rattle snake was at the drug and alcohol rehab center! Let’s just say, the folks had some protein for lunch!!
Oh the church services have been so wonderful with a mighty presence of the Lord moving daily!
Jesus healed a brother in church who had a brain tumor – that tumor is gone in Jesus Christ precious name!! We’re looking forward to another wonderful church service tonight in Itabira.
My wife is getting better daily - thank the Lord – her from Bell’s palsy condition. And I have been healed from my recent sickness with Dengue fever and pneumonia and water around my lungs! I was very sick but Jesus has healed me!!
It's so very sad to report that many people of Brazil are literally eating from the trash, scraping up what they can to survive. And many of our hard-working pastors and their church members are in desperate need of help as well!
Please pray as the situation in Brazil is desperate with no governor assistance. For over 31 years
the country has been in terrible shape financially. Before long they might need to start eating cats and dogs and rats and other animals. Things are expensive and income very low for people.
Please pray for Brazil and its people – it’s so sad!

Dear friends and partners in missions,
We are so excited to report that, so far this year, 682 have been baptized in the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ and most of these have been filled with the Holy Ghost!!
Jesus is so precious to me. Once again, He has opened the Red Sea!
It’s my desire do a lot for Jesus. I want to build at least 3 churches for Jesus this year. We want to buy my father and mother’s house in Brazil to house elderly saints that have been faithful and have no place to go.
Well, Jesus is making this happen! We have one church well on its way with a friend helping us to get this done. And I have also been able to put a good down payment on the house!
Oh! Our Jesus is wonderful beyond what I can explain! Jesus has my back and it’s so wonderful to hear from Him.
As a drop out from High school (later finishing one year of Bible school), I might not have been the “favorite pick” by some. But I’m so happy Jesus picked me to do His work in Brazil!
When I lived in America and worked, I tried to work more than others. When it was time to give, I wanted to give more.
Jesus is so wonderful! I helped build 2 churches in Brazil years ago before going to the mission field. I worked as a construction laborer. Jesus got me a much better job after that. When I landed a wonderful job with extremely good pay, then Jesus took me to Brazil! I had 25 dollars a month income from a previous landlord and landlady who were faithful in their support over the years.
All the honor and Glory to Jesus! Oh! Jesus is so wonderful! Since then, I’ve helped build 70 churches - not having money, but with your support - and Jesus supplied! Jesus been good to me! And so have you, my wonderful friends and supporters! The work is big – but Jesus is able!!

Thank you so much for your prayers for my wife who has been dealing with Bell’s palsy symptoms. She is almost 100 percent!! We’re trusting Jesus for a complete miracle!
The children’s center is doing well – they send their love and greetings. They love the word of Jesus and are so happy to help bring their moms and dads to church.
Please pray for the ones in the drug and alcohol rehab, that they will commit totally so Jesus can deliver them.
The Bible schools are reaching new people to work for Jesus. The gospel is growing tremendously all over Brazil.
I’m so happy to see the progress my son and His family have made past few months. I pray he continues to grow in the Lord. My daughter has been a big help to me with the mission field work as well!
My vision is for all of Brazil - 3 million 286 thousand square miles and 219 million people need Jesus. And, also, we want to reach souls for Christ in Columbia, Peru, Bolivia, and Uruguay as we can.

Dear friends and partners in missions,
We are surely living perilous times! But it’s time for the church multiply and grow. The Lord told Adam to take dominion and it’s Jesus’ desire for the church as well.
In your prayers, please pray for my wife, Edneia. Because of stress and an ear infection, her eye and mouth was giving her problems – they were hanging down and not like herself. These are Bell’s palsy symptoms. She went to the government hospital in Brazil, which offers very limited help. They did what they could, but she needed an exam to make sure it wasn’t a stroke. Thank the Lord, it’s not a stroke. She is much better, but still needs and wants a complete miracle. We know Jesus doesn’t do anything halfway, so we know Jesus will completely heal her! Please keep her in your prayers!
In the past, Jesus healed my wife of cancer and from almost being blind. My daughter is a miracle as she almost died in my wife’s womb - Jesus saved her! God kept my daughter through a difficult pregnancy when my granddaughter was born.
So we know Jesus can completely heal my wife!
Our Jesus is able!!
Our young preacher Gabriel, from Neves church, has won many young people to the Lord and we thank the Lord for this soulwinner. They are needing bibles and asked for some.
Brazil is a large country - there are many places we have gone and many places we have yet to get the gospel to. We’re praying for our people to be dedicated to take the gospel further. And Jesus has heard our prayers and heart’s desire to reach all of Brazil.
Pastors are in revival all over Brazil - people are coming to Christ daily, thank the Lord! Many are getting baptized in Jesus’ name and being filled with the Holy Ghost! It’s a wonderful time to work for Jesus!
We’re having a wonderful move of the Lord! In Bahia, 22 received the Holy Ghost, 35 have been healed, and 16 repented of their sins. At Laranjeiras church, there have been many filled with the Holy Ghost!
Since mom has passed away, I’m wanting to buy her house from my brothers and sisters. I made this decision before my wife became sick. Brazil law states that all the children get an equal portion of dad and mom’s house. But no weapon formed against us will prosper in Jesus Christ’s precious name. I would like to have the house for Souls for Christ for office space and to use as a guest house for visiting preachers and saints. And to have a home for elderly homeless saints that have been faithful to Jesus over the years. I built the house in 2005.
The house now is worth about 120 thousand American dollars, but it won’t sell for that because of Brazil’s poor economy. So, my brothers and sisters asked me for much less and my sister Ruth is donating her part to me. I’ll be paying 49 thousand five hundred dollars for the house, Lord willing, and I’ll be making payments to them.
Pastor Hamilton and his wife, Sis Fatima need engine repair on their vehicle as they have worn it out helping the church in Uberlandia. They are some of Dad and mom’s saints and are wonderful workers in the ministry.
Pastor Juarez has taken the word of God many places and he gives me great reports of the progress in Brazil.
I thank Jesus for you daily and I appreciate you all so very much. I’m so glad Jesus has put us together to work for Him. We couldn’t do the work without wonderful, supportive saints of God.
The Lord willing, on March 17th 2024 I will celebrate 31 years on the mission field of Brazil! At times I go to America to see our supporters and raise funds, but we still coordinate daily work in Brazil. And we’re in contact with pastors regularly, solving problems and situations.
The Lord willing, I would like to help build more churches for Jesus: Pastor Jonias in Fortaleza;
Pastor Sandro in Maceio; Pastor Antonio Carlos in Contagem. As we can, we will get this done.
There are many places that need help and we help with the most pressing needs and try to please Jesus the best we can.
The work is big, but our God is bigger! The ark there was bad smell. But as Noah opened the window, the smell outside was even worse. We tell people that the church may at times be difficult, but outside the church there is no hope. God told Noah to pitch the ark within and without. That was to keep the bad smell out. We need to endure these last days and not let the world get to us.

Dear friends and partners in missions,
Happy New Year!! Praise the Lord to all of you!
It is going be a different year for us as my precious mother, Sis. Marjorie Barber, has gone home to be with the Lord. Mom passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Vivarte Nursing Home. Her nighttime caretaker had gone in to check on her and found her already asleep with Jesus. She passed away peacefully and we thank the Lord that she is now joined again with dad and in the arms of the God she served so faithfully for so many years. We buried her in Betim near dad, who died 4 years ago.
Once they discovered that mom had passed away, the nursing home contacted the local medical ambulance which has a doctor and He pronounced mom deceased at 5:17 am. The nursing home owner sent me a message to call them at 6 am and I knew something had happened.
In Brazil the family is the undertaker. So I was plenty busy there on. Brazil and their “red tape” didn’t help any. Since mom’s foot had lacked circulation already for a month or so, the nursing home asked me not to prolong the funeral plans. So, we scheduled a same day burial knowing my brothers and sisters would not be able to come to Brazil. My sister, Ruth, and my brother, John and my Uncle Warren had just come to visit in November and December, thank the Lord!
Mom was 86 years old (would have been 87 in May). She was a tremendous prayer warrior. She witnessed to thousands of people; even at the nursing home she reached for souls. She fasted and prayed numerous 30 and 40 day fasts in a 3-year time period. She fasted and prayed as much as she took days to eat. Several times these past few years Mom wasn’t expected to live, but Jesus kept helping her.
Please keep me in your prayers as life has changed for me. I knew mom was going, but it still was a shock. Jesus has given me strength. She died in peace and old age. Jesus went to prepare us a place – she is now there in the place He prepared for her.
esterday afternoon I went to the printers to get another 20 thousand tracks on Jesus’ name baptism. We have our work cut out for us! The Brazil pastors are helping us get the tracks out. The pastors are a big part of the work here. We couldn’t do it all without them. Many times, they need help and it’s so hard not to be able to help them for all the work they do for the Kingdom in Brazil.
The children at the children center send their love and greetings. They are so thankful for you!
Souls are being saved daily such as should be saved.
My family has been a big help to me - I thank Jesus for their love and support and for the sacrifices they have made across many years while I have worked to build upon the foundation my parents laid here in Brazil. It is teamwork that makes it happen!
And I thank the Lord for you, your prayers and support - it means a lot to me. The burden is heavy, but your prayers and generous support have been a life changer. We can’t do this work without you!
Jesus is providing miracles daily! Jesus is so wonderful!!
The drug and alcohol rehab has been a very difficult part of the work, but we stay faithful to Jesus and trust Him to help us help those in the rehab.
Pastor George needs major work done on his car. We need to change the engine and the vehicle needs tires as well.
Jesus is showing up and showing out at the church services. Jesus is so precious with His presence. We have wonderful fellowship with Him as we get into His presence.

Thinking Outside the Box
Dear wonderful, precious friends and partners in Missions,
Greetings in the precious Name of The Lord Jesus Christ! Jesus is so wonderful! His presence is so sweet. I’m overwhelmed with His presence this morning and my heart is full of Joy and overwhelmed with His presence!
We’re having wonderful services here in Brazil! Jesus is moving and saving in a mighty way.
Many times we have to think outside the box to get things done. But salvation still takes the anointing power of The Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation still requires the need to repent.
Jesus is bringing many backsliders back and new people as well. Many are baptized all over Brazil.
We are looking forward to Pastor Jonias de Castro coming to visit. We have a car we are sending him for the northeast churches. He is doing a wonderful work for Jesus, and for a long time I have been wanting to send the work a good vehicle.
This year 879 have been baptized in the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ! It's so wonderful for our names to be written in Jesus’ book.
Mom almost died a month ago. We had a special thanksgiving church service at the nursing home and mom got a lot better - thank the Lord! Praying still works! There is no reason the church can’t have today what the church had in the bible. We just need to believe and ask!
The church in general in Brazil is growing and souls are getting saved. I’m amazed at the dedication of our young people in getting literature out to their communities. They have been handing out tracks and being a blessing to Jesus’ work. Needless to say,
I ordered more literature and we are sending it all over the country. People are getting saved and we thank the Lord for new souls!
Lord willing, Pastor Sandro from northwest Brazil will be coming in January. The churches in Columbia and Peru are expanding also and growing. Again, we thank the Lord for helping us grow His Kingdom!
With Brazil being the 5th largest country in the world, we have our work cut out for us!
As the month of December arrives, I think “Where did time go to?” I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!!

I want to initially write about the wonderful church services in Sereno, Eldorado, and Laranjeiras churches. Actually, all of the churches - but I’ll write a little about these three.
Jesus has shown up and out at the wonderful church services! It’s so wonderful to be in Jesus’ presence!! We’ve had a wonderful move of our Lord Jesus Christ every time we meet - whether there are many or a few - but just wonderful church services! Thank you, Jesus! Services in Sereno, Laranjeiras, and Eldorado have been wonderful with Jesus’ presence with us. This month and last, we had numerous special services with many people from other places.
People are being healed! Souls are being saved! This year, 662 have been baptized in the precious name of Jesus! Thank you, Jesus!! Jesus has healed people of liver problems, AIDS, autism etc. Our Jesus is wonderful!!
Global Harvest was a big success. Many of our people were there to back it up. Years ago, I helped build 3 churches in that part of Brazil. It’s a 4 hour plane ride from me.
In Northwest Brazil the churches are growing rapidly. As a matter of fact, Pentecost is the fastest growing movement in Brazil. Thank you, Jesus!
Back in 1995, I was the pioneer of our church to go 3 days and nights on a bus to the northwest Brazil/ Bolivia border to meet the brethren that neededhelp promoting Jesus’ work and worship. From one location, it’s grown to 32 more locations for a total of 33 churches from this one work! The dedicated folks are working daily and Jesus is saving daily. It’s so good to see Jesus’ work growing!
Meanwhile in Sereno, we need to dig a big hole for a sewer and we need to make 2 bathrooms, Lord willing. Please keep us in prayer as we tackle the construction needs of numerous churches in different areas of Brazil.
In Northeast Brazil, we needed to order another 10 thousand tracts for that area. The printer is getting them made for us. We face many challenges, but our Jesus comes through for us. We’re seeing miracles daily. Thank you, Jesus!
Our Pastors, children’s center, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers. the 3 bible schools and my family all send their love and greetings.
The missionary field has been a lot of work! Much of the time, I am away from my family. I’m praying daily for my wonderful friends and supporters. I’ve tried to make a difference in Brazil. I’m starting to slow down - not because I want to, but as age creeps up on us, we have to shift our priorities and focus.
However, we help many of our pastors that are also “going and doing” a work for Jesus. Together, we’re still getting more done because of my experience and their willing hands to work on the mission field.

Dear Partners in Missionary work and Laborers together for the cause of Christ,
Jesus will reward us for what we do for Him. Jesus is saving people daily such as should be saved. Another busy month has gone by. Time is going so fast!
Daily I want to prepare more for His coming.
Please pray for Brazil as the communist government is starting persecution against the Church. Communist politicians wants to ban the Bible completely, close the churches in Brazil and stop the work of God.
The Bible tells us the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church!
The church is the people and, while it is nice to have a building to meet in to worship Jesus, it is important to remember that people are the church – not the building.
Jesus asked us to make disciples and to feed His lambs; so it is our goal for the work of God to share His Word and make disciples for Jesus.
Thanks so very much for your love and dedication to God’s work. Many places in Brazil need our help and, as we can, we are doing the best for Jesus and helping where we are able.
The harvest is plentiful! I’m praying Jesus will send laborers into the field. The past 20 years, the apostolic movement has grown tremendously in Brazil. Thank you, Jesus! To Him be all honor and glory!
We had a wonderfully powerful service last night at Itabira and tonight/Friday at Estancia do Serene.
Service ended at 9 pm - some saints and I started praising Jesus again and we extended the church service until 9:45 pm! What a wonderful time in the Lord!

Dear friends,
Praise the Lord! The wonderful word of God is still working in the vast country of Brazil.
The books of the Bible ended, but the book of Acts is still being written - and each one that follows the Word of God helps continue the writing of the Book of Acts! We need to continue the book of Acts as we follow the acts of the apostles.
Just as Jesus did miracles in the world in the time of Christ, miracles and wonders can happen today! People also need deliverance just as much as they need baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus gave us power and authority to continue His work!
Miracles are happening daily as people as and believe in Jesus!
Oh! Jesus’ work is so wonderful. It’s so amazing!
We have many dedicated pastors in Brazil that we help as we are able. When I’m in America, I feel bad I’m not on the mission field. But I’m able to help many needs of the pastors in Brazil because I am visiting churches and raising support.
It's hard staying away from my family so much – I thank God they sacrifice my absences there.
But I enjoy visiting my friends, who truly care for God’s work, and I know that when I am visiting
the churches and my friends in America that God’s work in Brazil is blessed by the much needed funds and monthly support that is so generously given. We are always praying for more monthly supporters. Thank you for your heart to give to the work in Brazil!
Jesus has blessed us with wonderful friends that have a big love and compassion for God’s work.
It's the love of God for the missionary field.
God loves people, so he places missionaries in different parts of the world to reach the lost.
Over the years, we’ve ministered in 8 states of Brazil and helped build first time apostolic churches in these 8 states as well as the countries of Columbia, Peru, Bolivia and Uruguay. As these churches become self-supporting, they are going beyond and helping in the new areas.
There are still many places that need Christ, but with time winding down I’m focusing on preparing disciples and we’re sending them to new areas.
We have numerous right-hand men that are helping us send new people out into the harvest field.
Revival is all over Brazil! The pandemic put a damper on some churches, but the churches that stayed open gained people! Praise God for growth!
As Jesus is healing and delivering people, the churches are growing once again!
We have seen at the rehab center that the people that stay with Jesus get delivered and stay delivered. But some of the people who get out of rehab end up coming back needing help. I’ve told them they need to have a made-up mind. They will pick their future. Jesus will reward us according to our obedience to His Word.
People need Jesus. We are also thankful to see many backsliders are coming back to Christ.
These days we need to help Pastor Nilson get a roof on the church in Cruzeiro. The brick walls and concrete pillars and part of the walls are up.
We are working in many areas of Brazil at the same time. Sometimes it might seem like a slow process but we’re getting it done for Jesus as we can.
I thank the wonderful churches and pastors and individuals who have helped me carry this heavy burden. Your prayers and most generous support have made a difference in Brazil!

Dear faithful friends and partners of God’s work in Brazil,
I am so glad to get to write again! I thank God for His mighty hand of protection and His Spirit moving across Brazil. Jesus is doing a mighty, fast-growing work in Brazil. Some church’s attendance has slimmed down, but mostly others have grown.
People are hungry for God. Most people walk to church, singing and praising Jesus!
Since the communist government’s take over, things have become harder for the Brazilian people. But they are searching more and growing in the Lord. Complaining only satisfies the devil. So, we’re teaching our saints to give our Lord Jesus Christ glory and honor.
Even many of the new converts are walking to church. Many wonderful pastors and children lack the basic daily food, but they have joy in their hearts to know Jesus.
It's my goal to help evangelize all the areas that need the gospel. So, I’ve been partnering with the local pastors and helping them see the need to reach further with the Gospel.

Dear Friends and Partners in Missions,
Praise the Lord! It is so wonderful to be able to write again.
I wanted to begin by wishing all the mothers a Wonderful Mother’s Day! We appreciate all you do for your children to raise them to know Jesus!
I have been moving my office back to the Bible school building and I am so happy that my daughter, Jenny and my son, Philip have been pitching in to be a big help to me and my wife. They are getting more dedicated to God’s work and – at this phase of my life – it is a huge blessing! I am not wanting to slow down, but I am not as young as I once was. I wish I was 25 years old again, for there is much to do for the Kingdom work here in Brazil!
When my dad was 63 years old, I left America to help him with the work of God in Brazil. I’m 59 now – where has the time gone? My wife also has been very dedicated to God’s work - I truly thank God for her working hard daily for the Lord!
I really appreciate my friends and dedicated supporters who make it possible to focus on winning souls. Thank you so very much! May the Lord continue to bless you and your family and friends.

With the wonderful volunteer friends I have in America, I’m able to dedicate more of my time to the missionary field of Brazil.
I do love to visit my friends in America and raise much needed funds for the missionary field, even though it does take time away from God’s work in Brazil. I’m praying more churches will catch the burden and support the work in this vast country of Brazil. It is a huge country with many challenges.
And I appreciate the wonderful people and churches in America that are making a difference here. As I’m getting older, it’s harder to travel and visit the wonderful churches in America. I’m slowing down on my travels to America but not because I want to. There’s so much to do for Jesus on the mission field. If you don’t see me too often, it’s not that I don’t want to visit but I’m busy for Jesus in Brazil.
Please come visit in Brazil anytime you wish! Our doors are always open to receive our wonderful supporters.
I’ve worked in Brazil the past 30 years so that if I can’t be there for any reason, the work of God continues. It’s not about me. It’s about the work of God. It’s His kingdom, not mine. As I can, I want to do all I can for Christ. I’m praying Jesus’ will to be done. I want to be faithful to His calling.
We have 70 pastors on the front lines with me, pushing and going to new areas with the gospel. Because of my wonderful supporters, I have been able to assist these pastors and churches with their needs at their locations. There are always expenses and Jesus always provides! All glory and honor to Him for His provision! Many pastors from Brazil would love to come to America to visit the churches in America. Maybe in the future some can if the Lord permits.
As Brazil is in the hands of a communist president. I’m not certain what will happen here. But the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church!
Recently, Jonathan Kunihiro came to visit us. It was a wonderful visit! Thank the Lord we had a wonderful opportunity to say much needed things to him about helping him to return to Christ. Also, his brother, David Kunihiro is in the nursing home and living his last days and we are asking Jesus to have mercy on these two. They are both sons of the late missionaries, Sow and Virginia Kunihiro who gave their lives for the cause of Christ in Brazil.
At times, a missionary can be very busy for Jesus on the mission field. David and Jonathan got away from Jesus. But we believe Jesus is working on them after this wonderful visit.
“Jesus doesn’t have grandchildren” – just because mom and dad are Christians, doesn’t mean the children are. The kids need a relationship with God for themselves. As ministers, we tend to get too busy and our kids sometimes want to wander away. But our children are souls, also, that need Christ as much as anyone else. Thank you, Jesus, for the good difference in David and Jonathan Kunihiro.
My sister-in-law, Eliane, was struck by a car while she was on a motorcycle. Her back was broken and bone crushed. Jesus did a miracle for her, allowing her to walk even in that condition! “It’s a miracle” the doctor said; he had never seen anything like it before. People limit Jesus some times.
We also thank Jesus for healing Sis. Aila in Northeast Brazil. She had kidney stones really bad, but Jesus has touched her!
Pastor Marcos was near death with many health complications. Thank you, Jesus for he’s doing much better!
Once again thank you for your prayers and generous support that enables us to promote the work of God in Brazil. I love America and Brazil! I have a big burden for Brazil and surrounding countries.

Dear friends and partners in the missionary work in Brazil,
Lord willing, on March 17, 2023 we will celebrate 30 years on the mission field of Brazil!!
Oh! We have seen some mighty moves of God and many miracles and many changes across these years. It's been down and up. I’ve tried to run away from God’s calling, but I have come to realize Jesus has me in Brazil for a purpose. It’s been a hard, difficult life and there have been many let-downs but Jesus has always been by my side helping me defeat the difficulties.
And there have also been many joys, victories, and memories, and we have been blessed with many wonderful friends along the way.
There have been many revivals with people coming to Christ. I came to Brazil single and Jesus provided me with a wonderful wife, 2 kids, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law and 3 wonderful granddaughters!
I want to thank you - my friends - for your prayers and most generous support for the work in Brazil.
We’re having a mighty move of God in Brazil at our churches. I’ve worked to get churches in the 8 states of Brazil. We’re teaching our people to be active soul winners for Christ and that revival and soul winning is a must!
These days we are waiting for the new pews to come. When we ordered them, they were more expensive than we thought, but we feel we made a good choice for God’s work. Also, we ordered windows for the previous upper room church which we are turning into a parsonage, Lord willing – this is something we have desired to do for 3 years.
The pews are costing $3.100 and the windows and doors are $4,050. I paid half up front when I placed the order. The remaining is due at delivery. The Lord will provide - He always has! We walk by faith and God opens up the “Red Sea” all the time for us.
Sister Tiana drove 14 hours to visit us from Ceres Goias. She is a long-time friend and precious saint. Her sister, Cida and her son, Clayson also came with her. The church in Ceres is growing, thank the Lord!
Sis Bichinha is a faithful, dear saint. She sells prayer rugs to help out as her retirement is very low. I went to visit the Eldorado church and she was pressed for cash and she asked me to buy some rugs from her. I hated for her to carry her work home so I asked her how many she had - she said 8. I purchased them from her and she was so thrilled. She can buy needed groceries now as well as pay some bills.
And prices are through the roof here! But our God is able! Roads are very rough in Brazil. I decided to buy this jeep to put to good use on the mission field – it was very much needed! It’s a 2017/18 (Brazil has 2 years on a vehicle when it’s made late in one year and sold going into a new year) It needed tires, runs good and I was able to purchase it for just under $16 thousand US Dollars; the tires were $850 and and the yearly taxes and tags were $650. I’ll be making payments on the loan. The choice was car payment or car repairs - one or the other. So we thank the Lord for reliable transportation. Since the new government took over in Brazil prices have gone up so much, but Jesus is and has been faithful. But our God is able!!
Jesus is saving daily on the missionary field. The Lord is showing up and we are having wonderful services - thank you Jesus! Over 70 have been baptized and received the Holy Ghost this year in Brazil at multiple locations.
I have traveled to Juiz de Fora to visit 2 pastors and 3 different churches. They are working as much as they can for Jesus. The difficulties are severe in Brazil, but as we can we are moving forward.

Dear friends & partners in Missions,
Praise the Lord! I know it’s been a little while since I’ve written. Time just flies on by so fast and we have been making time count as Jesus is soon to come.
Well, the communists have infiltrated the school system and the election didn’t turn out as we wished in Brazil. The people are suffering the consequences already. Perse-cution has started - we need to keep speaking the Truth rather than speaking about the politicians in Brazil. Please pray for the people of Brazil.
Thank the Lord people are realizing Jesus is soon to come. Thank the Lord Jesus went to prepare us a place!
In this picture, Pastor Jonias baptized these 4 sisters. Pastor Jonias is in north west Brazil. He was widowed. He got married January 15th.
The church services have been wonderful! Jesus is showing up and out every service - oh the move of God has been so wonderful!! New people are coming to Christ!!
We also need to focus on Pastor Nilson in the town of Cruzeiro. He has a partial wall up; needs 3 more walls, a roof, doors and windows.
My wife hadn’t been feeling well. Thank the Lord the doctor said it’s not cancer. And we thank the Lord Jesus for healing my heart. I went to pray, visit and preach to a couple and their family 2 hours away. When I got there I said, “healing has come to this house!” Pastor George and I prayed for the folks; and then I asked Pastor George to pray for me also. Later, I went to the cardiologist - he asked for 27 different exams. Praise God! My heart is much better - thank you Jesus!!
Two young couples at PTB headquarters couldn’t have children, but we had special prayers and Jesus healed them and now they are having twins!! Thank the Lord the church is growing by new people coming and new children being born!
Please continue to pray for us! We love and appreciate you so very much! This year of 2023 has many challenges, but our Jesus is faithful!!

Dear friends,
Praise the Lord! I pray you had a great thanksgiving! We are working hard and staying busy for Jesus! With 70 churches and pastors, 3 drug and alcohol rehabilitation sites, 3 bible schools and the children’s center - it keeps me busy!!
It is important to us for you to know that the funds we receive. we stretch to meet bills as much as possible! I thank the Lord for His faithfulness! I’ve borrowed money for the missionary field and I am working on paying it up. Jesus has been wonderful to bless so that we can repay these funds.
I thank the Lord for my wonderful friends that help us working for Jesus in Brazil!! You are such an important part of the work here! Your prayers and financial support are crucial for this kingdom work to be successful! Thank you! Thank you!!
There have been times I’ve stayed for long periods of time away from my family in order to work for Jesus, but the Bible tell us we must leave father, mother and brother for his cause. It hasn’t been easy, but there are souls are hungry for God!
We’re focusing on 4 areas that need first time apostolic churches in Brazil. There are many needs and we’re getting to them as we can.
There is a new work in Northeastern Brazil and we’re reaching sinners and souls who are hungry for Jesus there:
There is a second new area in northeastern Brazil where we are also reaching the lost for Christ. Pastor Sandro sent me this picture:
Many times we start churches in areas, even outside/ as in the picture above, or in any place available and, as the group grows, we rent a store front to get the people out of the weather. Our dedicated saints get literature distributed out to people and before long we need to get more literature made.
Please pray for the city of Itabira. Here there are 200 thousand people and they need an apostolic church. Also please pray for the city of Ribeirão Preto, a location of 700 thousand people who desperately need a church.
Please pray for Brazil as the whole country is in an uproar. Through fraudulent elections, the communist guy won - a thief that not many want back in power.
The people are praying daily at the huge protests at the army bases; people are asking and begging for the army to intervene. Communists have been in power 3 terms. If they get in again, it will be the end for Brazil.
It’s been harder to travel back and forth between América and Brazil. I know this world is not our home, but I’m pleading with Jesus not to let the communists get in. But I want God’s will to be done! Dear Jesus, please help us!
Prices have gone up drastically in Brazil. People in Brazil are suffering so very much - please pray for us!

Dear friends,
Grace be to you and peace from God The Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father. Galatians 1:3-4
Dear faithful friends and precious supporters of God’s work in Brazil … Greetings in the precious name of Jesus!
We thank Jesus for your prayers and support over the years for they have made a difference in the lives of so many across Brazil.
So many people need Jesus! It is not time to look for perfect people to come to church - you can’t find any! Jesus said in Mark chapter 2 verse 17 that He came for the sinners and there’s plenty of them! If they would just be welcomed into the churches and let the Holy Ghost change them, we could see great revival here in Brazil and in the mission’s field that is called America too! We need to reach sinners for Christ - the harvest is plentiful!
Pentecost is the fastest-growing movement in Brazil now. We’re teaching people to truly repent and have a relationship with Jesus. In Brazil, people want to be chiefs and not Indians, so the gospel has grown leaps and bounds - thank you, Jesus! Unfortunately, the people are in poverty and jobs are scarce. So many pastors depend on us, so we pray “Dear Jesus help us.”
Please be in prayer for Brazil as the communist wants to get in. May the Lord Jesus Christ rebuke communism in Jesus Christ’s precious name!
We have 4 places where we need a church urgently:
Itabira is a town 2 hours away from my home and has 200,000 people and needs a pastor; Ribeirão Preto has a population of 700,000 and needs a pastor; Pastor Juarez pastors about 13 preaching points in Bahia state and needs laborers to help him – he is 13 hours away from me; and Pastor Sandro is in the huge city of Maceio in Alagoas state, 23 hours from me, and has many preaching points and needs laborers. These 4 places have new people who are hungry for Jesus! Many locations have no buildings or churches in their homes. The work is growing - thank the Lord! As the world population grows, so the churches also grow. Each church member needs to be a soul winner for Christ.
Sure we have our problems, but Jesus is with us!
Our problems are to make us stronger!
One new convert was having a lot of difficulties since he got baptized. The devil was giving him a hard time and he was thinking of terminating his life. I had a talk with him and showed him that’s what the devil wants for Him. I told him to consider how his 2-year-old son would survive without a father and how his wife needs him, etc. We had a good prayer meeting. Thank the Lord he is doing much better! People need Jesus these days!
This year close to 2,000 saints were baptized in multiple areas of Brazil as a result of the literature we gave out. Our pastors and saints work day and night to reach the people of their cities. Time is at hand!
I’m looking forward to returning to Brazil as soon as possible. I miss my family so much!!
I love coming to America and visiting my precious friends that have been my heroes and wonderful prayer warriors and supporters for the work of God in Brazil. Still, I always look forward to rejoining my family at home in Brazil. Our reward is in Heaven -this world is not our home! Jesus will reward you for all your efforts for Him!
It's amazing - as we take care of the outcasts and down and out, God has taken care of us!
Next year on March 17th, 2023 we will be celebrating 30 years of working for Jesus in Brazil! WOW! 30 years!!
It's been a calling for sure. I’ve seen many miracles and have seen Jesus save many people and I have made many wonderful friends! Thank you, Jesus, so very much!! It hasn’t been easy, but Jesus has been with me!
If He gives me strength, I want to build more churches for Jesus and make more disciples for Him.

Dear Missionary partners,
Thank you for being laborers together for the cause of Christ! We’re having a wonderful move of God in our Brazil churches. Jesus is saving daily!
On July 29th, Jesus moved in a tremendous way at the Sereno church! Oh, what a move of God!! The church service started at 8 pm. At 10 pm, people were still worshiping the Lord, not wanting to leave God’s amazing presence. If I were able to be there I wouldn’t want to leave either. Many were first time visitors and some almost received the Holy Ghost.
When we bought this property, we had no idea there were 16 drugs and alcohol rehabs nearby. So far 39 have been baptized and many have moved on to other areas. But they took the precious name of Jesus Christ with them and they can promote the gospel to areas we’re we wouldn’t be able to go.
Please pray also for the future church in Itabira. The souls out there are wanting another wonderful church service. The harvest is plentiful! There are 122 thousand people in this city and, as far as I know, no apostolic church … yet.
Ribeirão Preto is another location needing the gospel. There are 700 thousand people here and two families are wanting a church; and as far as we know, there is no apostolic churches either in this gigantic city.
Let’s pray the Lord of the harvest will send forth laborers into the field. The fields are ready for harvest and souls who need Jesus.
I was thinking of the prophet. God sent the ravens to take food for him. I sure don’t want a rock taking my place when it comes to worshiping the Lord.
In May of this year, I had gone on a trip to Uberaba, Uberlandia, Catalão, Campo Alegre de Goias and Davinopolis. Thank the Lord that trip is paying off. Some of the saints I visited are stirred up and getting with it to do more for God! In Uberaba, there is a catholic family I preached to. They need a little more time and prayers and they need Jesus to intervene. Actually, I’m going to ask Jesus to have mercy on them that they can be saved.
People can be blessed in their natural life, but be spiritually lost. But when Jesus has mercy, they can be saved. The Uberlandia church folks got more on fire from God after my visit there. They’re starting an outreach! Thank you, Jesus!!
The Catalão folks got encouragement and a new zeal for Jesus. In Davinopolis, I reconnected with folks I hadn’t seen in years. I also met some new saints, praise the Lord, and Jesus stirred them up! Much the same happened in Campo Alegre de Goias. We’re trusting Jesus for a miracle at this location! Souls are hungry for Jesus!
I’ve been in America visiting a few churches, raising much needed funds for the missionary work in Brazil. We still have a way to go. But it’s very busy missionary work! I’m praying day and night for people in America and Brazil and over the whole world. I would like to see worldwide revival! It can happen!! I will be returning to Brazil on August 7th.
Jesus is the bread of life - without him we are toast! People need Jesus!! We need to help people to come to their senses that Jesus is coming back soon!!

Praise the Lord Friends of Souls For Christ!
Oh, Jesus has been so good! Things are getting better every day. Each day we’re closer to heaven Jesus went to prepare us a place. I’m so happy we can be ambassador for Christ! He has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
The biggest miracle is of salvation. We are blessed to help a sinner come to their senses that they need Christ! The word of God cleanses them!
We experienced a miracle that happened on the missionary field. My sister-in-law, Eliane, and her daughter Milena were on a small motorcycle and a driver on drugs ran into them. Eliane’s daughter was carried on the hood of the car. She needed to jump off because the driver would not stop. The doctor said Eliane was crippled for life. But a good prayer meeting changed that!
Our children are busy doing children evangelism. Sis. Fabiana from one of our churches asked me for literature that the children could give out to children. I had the printing shop make 10 thousand tracks and the children got busy passing them out. Thank the Lord many new children are learning about Christ and they are bringing their parents to church as well!
This picture is the first church service in Itabira, a new town of 122 thousand people. My son and his family moved here 1.5 years ago. It’s where my daughter-in-law is from. At first, I was sad my son moved away but then I realized Jesus probably would like a church there. It’s been a slow start but July 2nd was the first church service. I sent Pastor George to minister to this group of people. Thank the Lord it went well! Many new people - including my son’s father-in-law – attended. I’ve taken 10 chairs out there to start with plus whatever else they couldn’t come up with. The people are so happy! They want to hear more of Jesus - Salvation is the biggest miracle!
As I was traveling in America, I was running low on money and needed gas. I saw 2 gas stations and felt led to stop at one. When I stopped, I saw a brother in the Lord and he gave me 20 dollars! Oh, thank you Jesus for providing!! I was far away from people I know and the brother was far from where he lived. God just made it happen! Thank you, Jesus!!
A few days ago, I was thinking of a time I was traveling back to my house. I had gone 4 hours away by plane to go preach the Word of God. I left my suitcase close to the front of the airplane and went on back to get my seat. When I went to get my suitcase after we arrived it wasn’t there! Oh! did I run to find who had it! I didn’t have many clothes and I needed my suitcase back! Someone on the plane got my suitcase. When I caught up to them, they were insisting it was theirs. Oh, the things we put up with to answer the calling of God. If it weren’t a calling, I wouldn’t be there. But I’m so happy to be an ambassador for Christ. Seeing people get saved is just wonderful!!
My car has broken down in Brazil. I can still drive it but haven’t had the finances to fix it yet. There are so many needs but, at the right time, Jesus will supply!
God got Joseph of Egypt out of the pit; Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego out of the fire; Daniel out of the den of lions; Paul and Silas out of jail; Peter out of jail; and Lazarus out of the grave. At the right time, God will help me!!
Please continue to pray for the children’s center, all of our pastors and ministers, the drug and alcohol rehab centers, and the 3 Bible schools.

At this writing, I’m finishing up my trip to America and looking forward to returning to Brazil.

Praise the Lord my friends!
It's been another busy time, as usual, in Brazil. I sometimes feel I’ve been working 24/7/365. There is so much to do. I am busier than I would like to be, but Jesus deserves our best! I’m not complaining by any means. But it is not always easy to live out of a suitcase and car, many times not having a stove, and having to adjust and adapt to so many minor details due to the calling. It certainly has been a calling! The Bible tells us if we look back, we’re not worthy.
I woke up one day and realized I’m getting old faster than I planned on! Over-exerting, working so much, and staying so busy have taken a toll on me. I have nothing saved for retirement. In the past, I have put all our resources into God’s work and taken out numerous loans to work for God in the missionary field. I thank God He provided a wonderful church to take care of one of the loans. Thank you, Jesus - He always provides! Like I said, not complaining - just explaining.
I’m traveling in America right now. For the past few weeks, my wife was with me, but she has returned to Brazil. I wish I could have gone with her. I miss her, my son, and my daughter. In Brazil, there are so many needs; I’ve done my best to take them under my wings so to speak. I love my friends in America and love going to see you, but many times it’s been hard staying away from my family so much.
I thank my friends that have stepped up to the plate to help. I just wish more people would see the burden. I have wonderful supporters! I’m praying for more supporters to come on board to help!
Today many times we get so busy and, yes, we need to work. In the Bible, Martha was busy working and Mary was at Jesus’ feet. I want and need to start doing more as Jesus said. Mary chose the more important part (John 15:2-4). Yes, we need to stay busy, but we need to bring souls to the Lord. The Word of God is what cleanses people. If the church is going to grow, we need to stop looking for perfect people to come to Jesus.
Jesus came to sinners not to agree with them, but to save them. Jesus came for the lost. As people get into God’s presence Jesus can change them. The Holy Ghost is the only one that can change people. People need the Holy Ghost. Jesus said, “greater works than these shall ye do”. Not because we are better than Jesus, but because we work with Jesus’ strength. I don’t see where Jesus baptized anyone, but Peter baptized over 3,000 at one time. And the Bible tells us Jesus came to seek and save the lost.
Some areas produce more than others. In the parable of the sower and seed, 30 percent, 60, and 100. But still, the sower let some seed fall on the wayside, on stones, and on thorns. He knew it might not produce much, but he knew it would some.
Manasses took out the strange gods and idols and he repaired the altar. We are living so close to the end. There are so many people yet to be saved. Jesus is looking for people to seek Him in spirit and truth.
We need to be getting people to God’s altar. Not pushing them away. We need to serve Jesus in spirit and truth, not to show and please man, but we need to please Him.
We all have failures in our life; but as we are honest with God, He helps us. Our righteousness is as filthy rags. Please pray for us as I want to do my best for our LORD and Savior!
There has been severe rain in northern Brazil that has put some saints out of their shacks and some have lost every piece of furniture and clothes etc. In our area, we’re able to get much done as the rain stopped.
The late Bro Kunihiro and my father’s churches got together for a wonderful conference in April. I wish my father and late Bro Kunihiro could have been here to see it.
As I am working, I am asking Jesus for my work for Him to continue even after I’m gone. It’s been my motivation to build and establish churches for Christ. In May, I visited the Petrolandia church. It was so wonderful to be there, seeing what Jesus has done! The church was packed!
Thank you to all our wonderful supporters for making a difference for Christ in Brazil! I love you all so very much.
I thank God for my wonderful wife who has been such a big help and blessing to me!! If and when I can no longer work for Christ, I know she will do her best for Christ and I pray you continue to invest in Heaven through her and our wonderful ministers in Brazil. I’m not planning on dying any time soon, but I want the missionary work to expand and grow.
The world population from 1960 to now has almost doubled!! Churches need to double also!! Many people have been hurt in churches and I understand that. But it’s time we reach the lost!
Please pray for Pastor Carlito. He had his leg amputated months ago and he is struggling severely. He needs $3500 to buy a leg prosthetic.

Dear friends,
Praise the Lord! I pray you had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday, and I pray you have a wonderful Mother’s Day!!
With your financial support, we have been able to distribute over 550 thousand tracts all over the vast country of Brazil! And so far this year, across multiple areas, over 1500 hungry souls have been baptized in the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ!! We are now buying more tracts to give out in new areas.
Meanwhile, in Brazil, we’re working hard as usual and have many things to do. I’ve not been able to leave Brazil because of covid restrictions, but I’m praying for better days ahead. There is so much that needs to be done in Brazil and our dedicated Brazil pastors are working diligently, doing their best to accomplish these tasks just as you are in America. I appreciate you so very much!
I thank the Lord for the wonderful team of supporters in America that have been praying and being genuine to help. Your prayers and generous support are much needed and very appreciated!
We’re teaching the people of Brazil to walk with God. For true revival, we need unity and a true worship for God.
We’re having wonderful church services in Brazil! Oh! the presence of God is so sweet and powerful!
Please keep the Sereno church in your prayers. Starting a new church location is not easy at times. Though it can be discouraging, we need to remain faithful and endure hardships and Jesus will come through for us. My wife and I need a steel fence for this church and a few more construction details to finish this building.
We plan to dedicate a 2nd church in the large city of Juiz de Fora. Jesus has opened doors for us here. Pastor Nilton Silveira is 70 years but going at it full steam. He needed a vehicle which I purchased on payments to help him with the growing work of God in the 2 locations he pastors.
In the Larangeiras church, Pastor George is also “full steam ahead”. He is pastoring 1 location and taking the gospel also to the cities of Itabira, Mateus Lemes, and Esmeralda. He needs to build a parsonage and I’m helping him build it. He has been a dedicated pastor, struggling severely for over 30 years. He just retired from his job of 36 years and now he helps me full time with God’s work in Brazil.
Please pray for Pastor Nilson and the Cruzeiro church! Many souls need to be saved at this location. The church construction is moving forward. We have been busy getting supplies to this location also.
Continue in prayer for Pastor Juarez in Bahia. It's a very challenging location with severe poverty and witchcraft. However, souls are coming to Christ! A church building is needed here also. Pastor Juarez is very dedicated!
A church is much needed in the city of Ribeirao Preto. We have souls there desiring church services. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
At the drug and alcohol rehabilitation, 32 women have been baptized in the precious name of Jesus!! We are so thrilled!! Thank you, Jesus!! So much is going on in Brazil. I wanted to write before now, but time didn’t permit it.
Please pray for Evangelist Jairo Schultz as he is struggling to make ends meet. He is a young minister who travels over Brazil to share the gospel. He and his wife have a miracle baby - they couldn’t have kids, but a prayer meeting fixed that! Oh!! Thank you, Jesus, for your many miracles!!
My daughter has a friend whose sister went missing. At first, we had no idea what happened. Run away? Kidnapping? Someone killed her? We started praying and seeking Jesus to help. In the meantime, I have a police officer/detective friend in Brazil and we asked him to help also. Oh! we prayed and prayed and prayed! Thank you, Jesus, she was found 400 miles away from her home. Our detective friend gave us info before her family knew about it. We notified her family to contact the police station 400 miles away. Thank you, Jesus, what a relief!!
I’ve been having car problems. The roads are very rough in Brazil and vehicles breaking down is not good. I need repairs that are not reasonable. Please keep me in your prayers. There are many needs, but our God is great!!
I’m just amazed at our Jesus He is so wonderful!! While there are many needs on the mission field, the biggest need is for people to know Jesus!
Let’s stay faithful and diligent to do His will! Let’s worship Jesus like never before!

Dear friends,
Praise the Lord! I pray you are well and in God’s presence! Thank the Lord, I’m feeling much stronger and better. My blood pressure is doing good! I went to the cardiologist today and my blood pressure was 110/70 which he said was good.
I wanted to go to America for a conference, but with the new COVID restrictions, I’m stuck in Brazil and can’t go. My trips to America to speak and raise funds make a big difference so it is hard to not be able to travel but the Lord will supply!!
We’re concerned with Ukraine and join you in praying for this country for God’s safety and protection for their people.
Here in Brazil, we have been having major rainstorms! Many of the people near us are going through difficulties from these storms.
But we have won many to Christ the past few weeks.! People are hungry for God’s word!! At a drug and alcohol rehabilitation nearby, there’s an American man that used to work in the US Coast Guard. It’s so sad to see how satan has destroyed his life. But Jesus is restoring him! He was in a church service with us and we are praying he gets completely delivered from the grip of satan!
I meet a man named Mr. Nen as I was returning from my son Phillip’s home in Itabira a few weeks ago. I was returning home and remembered I needed to take my medicine. So I stopped at a small restaurant snack shop, asked for coffee and milk and a piece of bread. I got the medicine, took it and the man said he takes medicine also. So we talked about how as we get older, we need glasses, medicine, etc. I then mentioned that no one wants to die. He said, “some people talk about eternal life, but I don’t believe in it”. I let him talk. I thought to myself, Jesus brought me here for this soul and for others close by.
When my son moved to Itabira, I felt impressed that Jesus Christ wants a church there. Now I am meeting this man who is talking about eternal life.
I said, “Maybe there isn’t eternal life. But what if there is?” I told him about my wife’s niece and how she lived with us for 10 years; how she was sad her mom never wanted her; my niece’s mother never gave value to my wife who always cared for this niece and looked out for her and was much more than a mother to her.
I said to this man, “Jesus cares for us and died for us and wants to be our father, and many don’t realize what He has done for us. We go on living and don’t wake up until we need Him. I spoke to him about how people are God’s creatures, but Jesus wants to have a relationship with us as a father has a relationship with a son.
I gave him the plan of salvation and explained to him how to be saved. There’s much more I can tell you, but to keep it short, he thanked me for talking to him and he asked me to come back. Yesterday I took 2 more pastors to visit and gave him more bible studies. We will be baptizing him at the appropriate time. Thank you, Jesus!!

Pastor Juarez is dedicating a church this weekend, Lord willing. Ten people who were trinity have been baptized the proper way in Jesus’ name - thank the Lord!!
Pastor Sandro from Northeast Brazil is starting to build a church; as we can, we’re helping him with these building and financial needs.
Pastor Nilson’s church building is also getting underway. Praise the Lord! As you all know, putting up buildings is a lot of physical work and there are many financial needs involved.
We need to reach out to Ribeirão Preto in São Paulo as well as to our pastors in other locations also!Please hold us up in prayer as we work in His Kingdom for the souls of Brazil!

Dear Friends,
We want to begin by wishing each of you a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New year!! I pray this letter finds you well and prospering in the work of the Kingdom.
Jesus has been mighty good to us! We are so thankful to our Lord Jesus Christ for you and we appreciate you so very much and we pray for you daily!
I thank my dear Lord for giving my family a closer walk with the Lord. It is strengthening to me for my family to be walking in close relationship with the Lord. It isn’t easy to have a dad (and husband and grandpa) who is often very busy in the missions field and I appreciate my family’s many sacrifices! (see family pictures)
We’re having good revivals in our churches in Brazil! We thank the Lord for unity and submission to God’s will in our congregations.
We’re teaching our peoples about the 2 sons that were asked to go to the field to work – one said he would go and did not go; the other son said no but then changed his mind and went to work.
And we need God’s righteousness not our own.
We’re focused on evangelizing more in a few cities like Capitão Eneias and São Paulo de Olivence Amazonas. They are very strong catholic cities, but they need the gospel.
Many pastors are asking to be baptized the correct way which we are very thankful for!
We have a few prayer requests to share with you:
Please be much in prayer for Pastor Carlito: He is in severe pain. His leg was amputated due to having an accident and his leg was not healing.
Pray for Pastor George: He is a very dedicated man of God. His car engine seized and we need to fix it. He goes to many churches to help them out.
Please pray for Pastor Sandro in Northeast Brazil: his back needs a miracle!
Jesus sent the disciples out 2 by 2 to do His work.
I’m so happy Jesus has put you into our lives to partnership with us for God’s work in Brazil!
Jesus is saving and healing people daily on the missionary field.
Thank the Lord that Bro Arnaldo has been healed! He fell from his horse and broke his leg. He’s elderly and his horse is his main way of transportation other than when we pick him up for church and back etc. The doctor was surprised at how fast he was healed! We prayed for him a lot!! Bro Arnaldo has been a blessing to us! We meet him 12 years ago. He was a good dedicated catholic. Now he is a good dedicated apostolic. He has been a blessing in our church. He cleans the church weekly. He thanks Jesus for his miracle!!
Please keep us in prayers! As this new year arrives, we have multiple cities that need the gospel. We have many places that need our help. I want to do as much as possible for Jesus while I can!

Dear Friends,
Greetings in the precious name of Jesus!
We are excited to report that this year - so far - 1,849 precious souls have been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!! We are praying and hoping many more will be baptized this year. Jesus is saving daily such as should be saved.
We have been busy building churches for Christ in Brazil and have been helping our pastors in numerous locations: such as Pastor Nilson in Cruzeiro; Pastor Adao in São Paulo de Olivence/ Amazon jungle; Pastor Nilton Silveira in Juiz de Fora; Pastor Sandro in Tabatinga in West Brazil near Columbia and Peru; the other Pastor Sandro in northeast Brazil: and Pastor Juarez in Bahia. We have many dedicated pastors in Brazil and we thank the Lord for them!
I’m sorry for not sending information faster but we stay so busy! Because this year the price of the dollar was up, it made supplies cheaper. So we put church construction in “full steam ahead” mode and we got so much done in a short time! I ended borrowing money to keep the work going in multiple areas.
The past 45 days prices have sky rocketed so I’m extremely thankful to our God we accelerated the church construction. Even though I borrowed money at very low interest, we saved at least 40 percent average on building supplies! What a blessing! And like the Bible tells us there’s a time for each thing. The price of the dollar had jumped up in Brazil and that made it a better deal to buy when we did.
I thank our Lord Jesus Christ for you all that have been such a good partner in Mission with us!
Jesus will reward you for your prayers and most generous sacrificial support! I thank God for the churches in America and its people that have prayed and supported the work here in Brazil!
There are many strong catholic cities in Brazil and it is in our plans this next year to do outreach in these cities. There are so many places that need Jesus!
Pastor George, who is 64 yrs old, is planning to retire from his job and wants to help us full time growing the church and taking the word of God to other areas of Brazil. He currently pastors one church and takes the Word of God to two other locations as needed. God gives him strength to work hard for the Lord at his age.
Pastor Juarez is 12 hours from us in Bahia. He pastors 3 locations and goes to many other locations also as needed. In 2 of the places, he holds afternoon church services under trees and in the streets until they can rent a building to have church service. They are teaching and training disciples. He has delivered a lot of literature, that you have helped us purchase, to other pastors.
The people of Brazil receive the Word of God well. Many Brazilians want to be chiefs and not Indians – they want to work for God and be leaders. We train and disciple them as quickly as we can in bible studies and send them to spread the Word and start new church works. As a result, the churches are growing fast and are strong. Jesus asked us to make disciples and with many locations needing the word, we pray for His direction about where to start a work and put saints in to help. As we send people to help from established churches to areas where churches are needed, Jesus replenishes the areas they are trained in. Some people are good church starters. They have a special gift of starting a church, so churches have started in many places over the last 50 years.
Pentecost is the fastest growing movement of Brazil. Revival is happening all over this huge country. We are preaching unity for revival. It’s working, thank you Jesus! Many trinity pastors from the past are asking to be baptized the correct way!! We thank you God for giving these pastors revelation of Truth!
On October 16, we had a wonderful church dedication in Juiz de Fora. I was unable to go but sent Pastor Jorge in my place.
New souls are coming in to our churches. Please be much in prayer for the Sereno church as we still have a lot to do to fix it up. The rainy season is upon us so the work is getting done as we can.
Please pray for me as we need 3 full time ministers to help us with all the work. I thank God for my family who are always pitching in real good to help out!

Praise the Lord! We are so glad to be able to write you again! We’ve been extremely busy!!
We are so happy with what Jesus is doing here in Brazil. Just over 1 thousand people have been baptized so far this year! We are praying for at least 1 thousand more!
In the past 28 years, we estimate we have distributed over 550 thousand tracts. With the literature we gave out, many people are coming to Christ in numerous locations - Thank you, Jesus!
They are in our church as well as other churches (and over the years some have passed away). Imagine 25 thousand in multiple areas of 8 different states of Brazil and 5 other countries - Kenya, Bolivia, Peru, Uruguay, and Columbia!
In many areas, people don’t have much to do so they go to church. Many are in need and go to church to ask Jesus for help. Many drug dealers have come to Christ, and many unsaved have come to Christ as well.
It’s definitely been a calling from our Lord Jesus Christ to be in Brazil, and I want to please Our Lord Jesus Christ and do my best for Him.
We have many wonderful pastors on the front lines needing our prayers and support. I’m in America for a few days raising much-needed funds. Oh, I miss my family so very much…I haven’t seen my kids grow up as I would have liked to because I have been busy for Jesus.
For the past 28 years, I have pushed myself to be all I can be for Jesus. Sixty-eight (68) churches have been built so far. By no means did I do all the work myself, but I networked with some wonderful pastors around Brazil to promote Jesus’ work to all the world.
Sunday, September 26, a preacher prophesied saying that he believes I need an airplane and a car. I said, “thank you, Jesus!!” Yes, it would be such a big help. It will need to be Jesus for this to take place!
I’m so tired of begging and pleading and asking people for their help. I thank the Lord for the wonderful supporters I have. We just need more so I can stop borrowing money to keep the missionary field going. Please pray with me that Jesus will help us receive more financial assistance mailed in or PayPal support. It’s God’s work!

Praise the Lord! I’m so sorry for not writing sooner. It’s been real busy on the mission field!
We appreciate your prayers and most generous support for the missionary work in Brazil.
We are excited to report that 8 new souls have come to the Lord at the Sereno church location.
We had a wonderful meeting with many pastors who came from far away to a conference at a nearby local church. It was at this church, many years ago, that dad baptized the pastor and many saints.
Mom sends her love and greetings. She is so thankful for her supporters. Social security canceled her social security income, but my brother John is working on getting it back for her.
One sister in the Lord had cancer; she came on a 2 hour trip - one way - for prayers. Thank you, Jesus for healing her!! I had met her years ago at the wedding of Pastor Luizinho’s son. Pastor Luizinho and his wife brought her for prayer.
One of our local leading pastors, Pastor Peter who is 87 years old, was in bad shape at the hospital; he had a breathing tube, kidney failure and was in a coma. Jesus has recovered him! All the glory to God!
Thank God for the prayers for Pastor Vilmar and Pastor Carlito; they are also doing much better.
Pastor Juarez from Bahia, Pastor Nilson, Pastor Adam, Pastor Sandro Tabatinga and Pastor Sandro Maceio also send a big thank you to all of you.
We have furnished them with supplies as we can.
We are laborers together for the cause of Christ.

There’s much unrest here. The Brazil Supreme Court is letting out crooks and criminals including the previous president of Brazil - Lula as he is known. The people are fed up with this and plan to protest big time before too long
Pray for the children’s center.
Pray for our pastors that are in need of food and supplies.
I’ve borrowed money to keep the missionary field going. I plan to go to America soon to raise much needed funds.

Dear faithful friends for God’s work,
Praise the Lord! I know it’s been a while since I wrote and I apologize, but we have been extremely busy for Jesus in Brazil.
Please pray for mom. I don’t know why, but she didn’t get her social security check this month.
She said yesterday she is tired and can’t work for Christ like she used to. She has given her life on the mission field for Christ for 60 years!
We are having 2 different baptism services this coming Sunday. We are praying for the unity we need in these last days for revival!
We are in the process of building 3 churches at the same time in different locations!
Pastor Nilson is also building at Cruzeiro. We have helped this church to be built. We still walls, concrete, a roof, Doors, windows, to finish the floor and the 2 bathrooms .
Farthest away is in the Amazon jungle. Pastor Adao is leading the work there. Pastor Sandro introduced me to their work. (see photo above). In this build, we still need walls, a roof, doors and windows and to finish the floor and the 2 bathrooms. Any amount would be a big help if the Lord lays it on your heart.
And last but not least we are building at Sereno. We currently meet in the 2nd floor of a home we purchased 11 years ago. My wife wanted us to build a regular church building with street access directly to the church. Thank the Lord, Pastor Nathan Batson led the way to raise extra funds for this much needed church.
There are so many different financial needs in Brazil that you help support. There are many pastors in Brazil that need our help to build churches as well as to buy literature.
The children center continues to need a lot of our help also.
The sisters of our church had a fast day this last Sunday. The young people of our churches have been very dedicated in reaching out to new people that need Christ.
We juggle things around to keep everything going.
Jesus has been faithful!!

Dear friends,
We have been “busy as usual” and Jesus has been mighty good to me. I was sick for a few days, but I am much better now, thank the Lord!!
Jesus wants to put His Spirit in us. He also wants us to get His spirit in others around us. He wants us to have His spirit and share it with others. Oh! how powerful is the work and word and mercies of God!!
Please pray for the churches of Brazil as we are going through persecution. The Brazil Supreme Court wants to stop us from worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ. Many of our pastors are holding church services in their homes as church is ordered closed for a few weeks.
Recently before one church service, one pastor thought he might have corona virus. I said to him, “come to church, Jesus will heal you”. Jesus healed him!
We thank Our Lord Jesus Christ for healing
Sis. Elisama from heart problems. And Jesus healed Bro. Pedro of a hernia.
We are telling people in Brazil that a person who dies with Christ wins! Time is short!!
Many have died in Brazil of different things. Please pray for Pastor Jonias as his wife died of a heart attack. This is a big loss to our church. Pastor Joao Cavalgante lost two sisters to covid – please hold him and his family up in prayer.
Please pray for Bishop Elifas as many of his family members got covid, but we know God is able to recover them.
Jesus said “Go” and that is what we are doing. We thank you for helping us go and do for God’s people in Brazil. I take my calling seriously. I want to hear the Lord say “well done, my good and faithful servant!”
Thank you so very much for helping us with the many projects going forth in Brazil. We have many irons in the fire. We are working on building 3 churches at different locations, with a 4th and 5th church needing help. Also, we are financially doing all we can so those last two churches are on the back burner for now.
Jesus’ word should be our priority. He said go into all the world, and that is what we are trying our best to do. Please help us send the word! Thank you for helping us send the word!
My granddaughter is 5 months old already! She is growing so fast! I’ve been so busy I hardly see her. I miss her so much.

Praise the Lord! We pray you are all well!
We are teaching the verses above to new people that are coming to the Lord. A special thank you to Our Lord Jesus Christ! We are so thankful to Him for keeping us and helping us so very much this past year in Brazil.
On March 17th we will celebrate 28 years laboring as a family for Jesus on the mission field. Jesus called me and I came by faith in Him, and he has not let me down!

A special thank you to Bishop and Sis. Henry Mobley. They have been like a father and mother to us, taking us in, always getting us from and to the airport, as well as housing us when we come to America and return to Brazil. They take care of our mail, get the donations to the bank and are such a wonderful help in general in every way! Their help is invaluable!!
A special thanks as well to all our prayer warriors and wonderful supporters – we accomplish much in Brazil because of your prayers and sacrificial giving. You are a very important part of the work here in Brazil! Keep praying!! It is making a difference!!
I am also blessed to have so many wonderful friends that make God’s work run like a fine-tuned machine.
And, last but not least, is a special thank you to our 66 pastors in Brazil that work diligently together with their saints to spread the gospel by distributing the literature that our many supporters help us buy – they are soul winners for His Kingdom!
Souls are coming to the Lord daily such as should be saved. Many Indians and others from around the country of Brazil are coming to the Lord. We are excited and encouraged by this growth!
We have 3 locations that are in need of a church building, and as we can we are going to build them. There will be more information on this in future letters.
We are also focusing on children that have many needs, as well as young people that need the Lord.
Many times they are on drugs and we are reaching out to them and try to help them refocus their lives.
Oh! Jesus has been so wonderful! We need to be full of the Holy Ghost in this last hour. There’s a wonderful revival waiting in the wings! Jesus is waiting on us to reach the lost!!
What a wonderful time to be living for and serving our Lord Jesus Christ! Folks are hungry for God like never before! People with problems are coming to Jesus and Jesus is helping them.
One sister was telling me her marriage was going downhill until she met Jesus. Jesus is everything people need. Let’s help people to realize they need Jesus and that He can make a difference in their lives!
Many years ago, I used to bring a lot of clothes to Brazil to donate to folks. It was a big blessing to them. As I got older, the airlines were charging much higher costs for luggage now than before,
so I can’t bring clothes any more, because of the difficulty and high cost.
Many of our ministers need cell phones. It would be nice to equip them so they could also take pictures to send us to get to you. God sees all of our work, but we would like to send pictures to you also. If you have good used or new cell phones (unlocked would be the best) and can donate them, please mail them to us at our USA address.
Next time I come to America I could bring them back to Brazil. (Unfortunately, the Sprint phones don’t work in Brazil).
Also, though this may seem an unusual request, any unwanted jewelry is also a helpful donation because we can sell the jewelry for funds that would be used to help build churches in much needed areas.
Right now, Pastor Adão is endeavoring to build a church in the State of Amazonas. It would take me 6 hours by plane plus a layover plus a 12-hour boat ride in the jungle to reach this area! Please pray for this work!
Through communicating with our pastors, they have told me they need help. I’ve sent what I can already and the folks are doing what they can.
We are completely out of literature so, before long, we will need more to take to new areas.
The work is hard here in Brazil. Being on the front lines has not been easy, but Jesus has kept us safe even though we've seen much danger.
Please keep our pastors in your prayers as they struggle to survive. We help them as we can.
Please pray for mom. She is doing well and she loves telling people about Jesus!
Please pray for the children at the center as they learn the word of God.

Praise the Lord to All of our Friends!
My wife and I are so excited to let you know that our first grandchild, Laura, arrived on November 3, 2020! I got to hold her first before my wife and you know she had a fit about that! HaHa! Please pray for our granddaughter as she is having a lot of colic.
I pray that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year, time is waiting on no one, that is for sure! Where has time gone?
Miracles are still happening!! In the past few weeks, God healed the back of Sis. Marlene, who is Pastor George’s wife. Jesus healed our neighbor Orminda of cancer!! Sis. Antonia was healed of her depression!! And my wife was healed of her allergies!!
By far, being saved is the biggest miracle! Many times, Jesus will heal folks to get their attention. It’s a wonderful tool for winning souls to Christ! The only time He doesn’t is when there’s a lack of faith or people don’t ask or God is dealing with an issue or it just might not be God’s timing. We pray for God’s will and we leave it in His hands, but we know Jesus wants to save people. What a wonderful time to get God’s word out!
I am thinking of starting an outreach for children born to severe poverty. Many of these children do not have cribs to sleep in, clothes, food or diapers.
Many of our pastors depend on us to help them as they get the gospel out. 2020 has been a difficult year, but God has been wonderful to provide through His people.
Thank the Lord, we paid up our loans from the mission field – all on time and even ahead of time, saving us interest, so we paid very little.
We have 3 churches we are needing to build. We have one minister who needs a car and another pastor who needs a van. As we can, we will get these churches built and the vehicles purchased with God’s help and with your help as well.
In addition, some of our pastors are needing car repairs as they have worn out their car transporting people to church. Some of our people are walking 45 minutes one way to get to church – in areas like this, we are hoping to help them with a van.
Thank you so much for the many times you are so very generous to Souls For Christ in Brazil!! It is deeply appreciated!! It is your prayers and generous support that enables me to work for Jesus in Brazil to do the many jobs we need to do on the missions field.

Dear friends,
Greetings in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Starting churches has not been easy by any means.
Some areas do better than others. We have dedicated pastors right now working to get new churches started in areas of North East Brazil, North West Brazil and closer to us in many new locations.
Many times the enemy of the churches has thrown rocks on the roof and on top of the rented halls, as well as bags with feces and urine; they have also spoken badly against the churches.
But the Bible said “the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church.” We are living in a time when we need to get people to realize their need to be ready for the coming of Christ. We need to intercede for souls. We need to find ways to compel people to come to Christ.
In prayer we need to seek Jesus and ask Him how to talk with people in our respective areas to get them into church. The Bible tells us not to cast our pearls before the swine. Salvation is not cheap merchandise to push on someone, but we need to search for souls that are hungry for God.
Yesterday in a wonderful time of prayer, I was praying and asking Jesus for my uncle to be saved. I believe Jesus told me to go baptize him. I asked Jesus to work on him because I would call him.
Jesus did His part! When I called my uncle, I told my uncle true repentance is needed and baptism is needed to be saved. My uncle never hesitated -- he wanted to drive 2 days so that he could be baptized!!
Friends, there are souls that are hungry, needing Jesus and we might be that one person to lead them to Christ!
Since our last newsletter, and by time you get this, over 88 people will have been baptized in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ in various locations! Thank you, Jesus, for this miracle of salvation!!
Christmas is around the corner. Let’s give Jesus a special Christmas by dedicating our lives more to Him and by reaching out more to people that need Jesus. Let’s do our very best to please Him!!
Please keep us in your prayers. Please pray for God’s churches that are getting started and getting gospel tracts out to folks in Brazil. Please pray for our Brazilian pastors, the children’s center and for the drug rehabs we are taking the gospel to.

We have been having some busy times on the mission field. Oh! But God has been so precious and dear and good to us!! He has protected us. He has healed so many folks. His presence has been so wonderful in our services!
Folks are coming to Christ, repenting of their sins and being filled with the Holy Ghost! Praise God!!
With numerous church locations being started, it is difficult to write about all of them. Our Pastors are dedicated, working full time jobs and taking God’s word to numerous locations.
We have our schedule completely filled helping to establish God’s work!
I have enclosed a few baptism pictures. While many have been baptized, we just can’t be at all of the baptisms. We ask our saints, if they can, to send us pictures; but there are many more pictures that we don’t receive. But Jesus’ work goes on and, in spite of the many struggles, our Jesus is faithful!!
Last Saturday night, Jesus healed 2 people during one of our church services – oh! Jesus is so good!!
The needs on the mission field are many. As the funds are available, we try to get things done asap. We still have 2 loans that I’m working on. Jesus has been faithful!
Please remember our churches that are being started in your prayers, as well as the children’s center and the 3 drug and alcohol rehabs.
Pray for our pastors, who are usually working a secular job as well as pastoring.
Pastor Wilson Vono is in need of a good vehicle to help him do God’s work. A good vehicle is a much needed tool on the missions field. We would like to help him with $4,000. He has been a dedicated pastor and friend and so faithful to God’s work.
Pastor Nilson needs walls and a roof at his church location. Pastor Nilson has been very dedicated to God’s work and has a great talent to reach souls.
At the Sereno church, we need to pay for the electrical work and for a floor that is needed there.
Please continue to pray for my mother. She needs our prayers and help.
After a biopsy of the sore on my head, the doctor told me it’s stress related. It has been there 3 years already but please continue praying for me. It’s much better, but I still want to see it completely healed in Jesus’ Name!
Please pray for my heart also. My left foot was swollen up like a balloon yesterday morning. Today it is less swollen, but I still need to be completely healed – I need good circulation and a healthy heart. I believe God is able to do this.

Praise the Lord! Well, we’re busy as usual! And, as usual, the Lord has been mighty good!!
Please keep me in your prayers as I’ve had a sore on my head. I went to the dermatologist and the dr. said it’s stress related. So, needless, to say I’m trying to be less stressed with things.
Please pray for Bro. Bruno and his family - his wife died July 5th; they say she had corona. Also, Sis. Ruth died in Campinas last month.
We have been having wonderful church services. The Lord Jesus Christ has been moving mightily and souls are being saved and people are being healed.
A Catholic man requested prayer - God healed him! He had problems with his hand freezing up and he is an Electrician. He was so happy with Jesus healing him! He came back yesterday requesting prayer for another person. Catholic people are easily reached for Christ and they usually become good saints.
Other healings that have happened include:
Pastor George’s wife - God healed her back!
A child was healed at Maringa Parana.
This coming Sunday, 3 plan to be baptized - thank you Jesus!
Bro. Roberto and Sis. Dalva’s daughter, Fernanda, gave up her bed to her elderly grandma who came to live with them. Fernanda will be helping to care for her. This family is extremely poor and needs a bed. They are very dedicated to God’s work not missing church services. Bro. Roberto cleans the church weekly and helps us a lot as he's a plumber.
Please pray for the churches being started in Sereno, Bahia, Captain Eneias, Montes Claros, Campos Elisios, Maceio, Eldorado Amazonas and Maringa Paraná. We were able to get more literature to give out to new areas. We have pastors who need our prayers and support. We are working day and night to do the best we can for the cause of Christ.
Pastor Sandro in the Eldorado church in the Amazon jungle is digging the church foundation with a pick axe and shovel and hoe. As we can, we will get this church built for Christ!
Many of our church services have been wonderful when we can have them. Some towns don’t allow church services at times and some do. Most churches are open now, and some of the churches “off the beaten track” have continued to have services. If the churches are in a city that required them to close, these folks are having services in the home.
Mom is in a nursing home where other clients have tested positive for the coronavirus. One 98 year old man died from the virus, they said, although I believe it was age-related. Mom tested negative and we thank the Lord for that. This is a miracle!
Pastor Eloisio’s son Max and Sister Kate got married this last Saturday. They are a wonderful young couple in the church.

Greetings in the precious name of Jesus!
Mark 16 verses 15 & 16 read …”And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
These verses are just as important as Acts 2:38!
Over the years we have been establishing churches. We currently have 12 churches.
Six of them need more help than the other six and we are doing our best, with your help, to assist all of them with their needs.
We are having wonderful services. Jesus is moving mightily and the churches are growing daily. Jesus is moving and saving daily such as should be saved!
Our pastors all over Brazil are baptizing hungry souls. Last month in one church service, six repented of their sins and they have since been faithful to Christ, not missing a church service.
At a busy car repair shop, employees do different jobs. One person stays at the counter taking in vehicles and hearing the problems expressed concerning the car; then they pass the car to the mechanic who hears of the problems and then orders the needed parts and fixes the car.
The mission field has become a large work of many churches in many different places. I am like the person at the counter whose job it is to help solve problems. With the funds I receive from our faithful partners, I am able to share with many pastors who are on the front line. I see what is needed and work together with the American churches, pastors and saints to keep the mission field going. In this way, you and I are on the front lines with these faithful men!
We are teaching our saints in Brazil to be more dedicated to Christ. Truly repentance is necessary, and the more dedicated we all are, the more miracles we will see happen.
We are teaching our saints that if the church needs to be cleaned or painted, or the lawn needs to be mowed, be the first to do it and Jesus will bless you for it and you will see more miracles in your own lives!
The needs are many, but our God is faithful.

Financial help at the drug and rehab centers
Financial help at the children’s center
These needs total to close to $50 thousand dollars! But our God is bigger and sees our needs even before we ask. God is able! Please pray for these needs to be met.

MIRACLES!
Bro. Rick Williams attends a church in Dresden, TN. He asked me to call him. He told me 6 years ago that I prayed for his married daughter who was told by numerous doctors that she would never have kids. Six years ago I prayed and I said she would have twins. So Bro. Williams was very excited to tell me that Jesus has done this miracle and his daughter is having twins! Thank you Jesus!!
Eighteen years ago, the doctors left my father for dead after surgery. We prayed and Jesus gave us another 18 years with Dad. Now, dad is jumping and shouting and praising Jesus in heaven, but we thank God for the extra time He gave us with him before He took him Home.
PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray for my mother. She had surgery February 13 for skin cancer – a lump on her left arm and a spot on her left hand. God is a Healer and He is able to keep her. We thank you for your offerings for mom that help her with her finances, especially now that dad is gone.
Please accept our deepest thanks for your cards of sympathy and offerings in honor of my dad. We are blessed to have such friends in our lives and your generosity was very appreciated.

Pastor Joao Cavalcante in NW Brazil near Bolivia; has also built a church in Bolivia; Pastor Joao and Pastor Rone Silveira work together and they have built 5 church in this very poverty-stricken area – many needs here
Pastor Eloisio in Bairro Industrial Contagem/Minas Gerais State; in addition to pastoring, he assists with the drug and alcohol rehabilitation work
Pastor Wilson Vono left Campinas and went 400 miles to Maringa/Parana State to start a new church location; needs a vehicle, chairs, music equipment and literature
Pastor Elifas is a leader in our area; he oversees the churches and reports to me. He is able to bless our churches as he is a builder and owns his own company.
The plastic chairs we need can be purchased locally at $12 each and can be obtained and easily delivered to the pastors.

Rev. Donald E. Barber passed from this life into his heavenly home on Friday, January 17th.
Dad had not been well and the doctor was indicating his heart was only working at about
50%. He seemed to be battling a buildup of mucus in his chest and water began to build up in his lungs. As a result, pneumonia and infection set in. It became necessary for him to be on oxygen and to have a feeding tube because he could no longer swallow. The doctor indicated they had done all they could do. Dad went Home to a “place prepared for him” on Friday, January 17th, 2020. My family appreciates your prayers.
Dad’s life had an incredible impact on so many people. While he was never in the UPCI, some of the men dad trained later joined the UPCI. We are laborers together – some plant, some water, some reap – God gives the increase.
My dad baptized and trained a minister here in Brazil who went on to be the Vice President of the UPCI here in Brazil. He was the second minister to arrive at the hospital a week ago last Thursday. He volunteered his church for Dad’s funeral. I asked him to lead the service and I designated who to call on to speak.
There were many church leaders from 4 Apostolic church groups from different sections of Brazil that dad trained, as well as many ministers dad trained, who came to honor my father at his funeral for his friendship and ministry work in Brazil. The funeral went well.

Dad trained many men across the years who will continue on the work of God in this vast country of Brazil. Dad’s work goes on in the ministries of these great men he has taught.
Please pray for mom. Sometimes she remembers that dad has passed and other times she does not. Please pray for my siblings, my wife and my children. All of our lives are deeply impacted by dad’s passing.
I have had a difficult time but I know dad is with Jesus and He has comforted me and given me peace. I will miss him tremendously. He was such a wonderful person and minister. Many times I would need a miracle and I would call dad and ask him to pray. I was privileged to call him my father, teacher and pastor.
I will miss my hero! I am so happy to know he is not suffering and he went to a place Jesus prepared for him. He is jumping and shouting songs of praise to his Lord and Savior.

Where has the year gone? Unbelievable … 2019 ... it’s gone so quick!
Dear Friends,
I greet you in the Precious Name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Brothers and Sisters, we need your prayers for Brazil! The previous communist government has left Brazil in shambles!! People are desperate and many that are able have left Brazil to go to Portugal, Spain, America and other countries. Unemployment is at 50%!!
The Brazil economy is going to get better, but for now many businesses have closed and some have gone bankrupt. One friend of mine that employed 125 people was down to 16. Some of the other businesses have closed up shop because they could not keep open. However the many people who have left Brazil has also hurt the economy.
There is no government assistance of any kind for those who are still in Brazil. Hospitals are full with very few doctors. Schools are needed, but Brazil can’t afford to build them. School teachers go 3 months without pay. This is the way of life for many people in Brazil.
Our pastors are working full time jobs and many only receive $9 US dollars per day when they can find work.
My son, who was married in September, is looking for more work so he can support his family. He gets 3 days of work a week and receives $12 dollars per day. Also, please pray for my son as he needs
surgery - he has a lump on his back. I know God can do his surgery!
One of our friends died - his name is Walter - and I gave his widow $50 dollars. She cried with joy and happiness because we changed her life! She has bills to pay.
Many of our pastors need our help. So I spend time in America, away from my family and the churches, to help pastors in Brazil.
We need your help to help them! Please pray!!
Unfortunately, our Bahia church was broken into. The thieves took the musical equipment, chairs, doors, and windows. They cleaned us out!! You can imagine this church is heartbroken to have had this happen to them! All these items now need to be replaced.
Pastor Juarez was rear ended in a car accident and, yes - you guessed it, the person responsible for the accident fled, not paying, and he couldn’t afford insurance. He uses his car to preach to 3 different locations. He needs help!!
But looking on the bright side, Jesus has saved over 3 thousand souls!! Over 3 thousand have been baptized in Jesus’ name this year and have been filled with the Holy Ghost!!
Our pastors are working hard for Jesus Christ in His Kingdom in Brazil.
Pastor Carlito in Campinas is very dedicated also and has had many health problems, so
please pray for him!
Pastor Sandro and Pastor Joao Cavalgante both need a church roof at 2 different locations. If you are able to help with these roofs, please make a note on your offering that it is for a roof.
Let’s give Jesus a good Christmas this year with a special offering if you wish.
My family has backed me up so much and I thank Jesus for them! Thank the Lord my son is closer to God … not 100 percent yet, but going in the right direction!
This year I would like to do something special for our pastors and my family, also, as well as the 2 churches that need a roof.
We dedicated a new church in Juiz de foraand 5 more were baptized in Brasília, capital of Brazil. The building at this location is rented.
We thank Jesus Christ for the miracle He is doing in Kevin Bess’ life! He used to be completely crippled. My wife and I and many others prayed for him. Jesus is moving in his life and healing Him!! Thank you Jesus!!
Friends, please pray for Brazil – the people are starving. God can do more than we ask or think! God can take what we give and multiply it to meet all the needs here!! With what I receive, I can help them. I hate to ask but it’s for God’s work in Brazil!

Greetings in the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
I’m so happy to report that after speaking with the ministers all over Brazil, we estimate that over 3 thousand souls have been baptized in Jesus name this year and around 3 thousand have received the Holy Ghost! We feel this is a result of the distribution of the literature you helped us purchase. We do our best to get this literature out to the cities and to many remote areas as well.
We have a difficult time to receive reports back from all these areas, so we believe the numbers may be higher than we are reporting.
Poverty has been one of our enemies, but Jesus has never failed us!
Thank you so much for your prayers and support that enables us to promote God’s Word in Brazil!

We still lack 2 roofs to help finish a church in Northeastern Brazil where Pastor Sandro ministers and a church at Rio Branco, near the Bolivia border where Pastor John ministers.
Please pray for my sister-in-law, Elaine, who will be having surgery (cancer).

We’re busy helping pastors on the front lines to get the message out. We are helping establish 3 new churches in the cities of Capitão Eneias , Maceio, and Bahia, with Pastors Jaime, Sandro, and Juarez.
We have also given out tracts to many local churches and we have been taking the gospel to 3 drug and alcohol rehabs. Many need to be baptized. The work is big and we are on the front lines helping to support and supply for many churches that are getting started.

Please pray for Brazil – these precious people need Christ! There are so many places still needing to hear the gospel! I’m trying to make a difference!! We have teams on the front lines evangelizing 3 cities.
Please pray for Mr. Romulo’s family - my Dad’s next door neighbor - as he died from a fire that was in his garage. A propane tank exploded and set him on fire. My daughter saw his skin burning and peeling off. He was hospitalized with burns on 48% on his body and in a coma but has died.
Pray for my daughter also as she is going through a difficult time as she saw this happening in front of her home. The neighbors carried Mr. Romulo away from the garage on fire. There was heavy smoke so he sat on the side walk waiting for the ambulance.
Please pray also for Mr. Alcides’ family - he was killed on the streets, beaten and severely disfigured, his face was unrecognizable – a horrible death!
You may remember his son, Romario, is the one left for dead - part of his brain gone due to a accident with a bus who was paralyzed completely - he couldn’t talk and needed a feeding tube - but Jesus miraculously recovered Him!!
We have a special need - Pastor Sandro in Maceio needs help to put a roof on the church in the Tabuleiro section of Maceio. No amount is too small or large for God’s work!!

It’s harvest time!!
Dear friends and saints of God,
Praise the Lord! It is good to be able to write again. Jesus, as always, has been very good to us!! I wanted to explain regarding the recent bank account. Dad and mom and I started the Brazilian Missionary Fund account years ago and it was under that name. However it was never established as an organization or corporation or association. As dad and mom got older and banking changed, we have phased out and no longer have this account.
Offerings can now be made out to Daniel E Barber or Souls for Christ Missionaries, Inc.
Checks for dad and mom will be easier to cash if written to Souls for Christ Missionaries, Inc. Just designate “for Donald E Barber” in the memo line. Our Souls for Christ account went thru difficulties by being closed, but I've opened it back up again.
Also, at any time, if you would like to designate funds to help the pastors in Brazil or the children center or the drug and alcohol rehab or the bible school, just indicate that information in the memo line. If you would like to help in some other area we mention, just designate it. The offerings in the general fund go to where it is most needed.
Being on the front lines on the mission field, there are many needs we take care of and don’t even mention it. The front lines have been hard – there has been much pain, much hurt and we need your prayers as we continue to expand taking the gospel and the news of Jesus Christ to the cities of Capt Eneias and Bahia and Maceio.

Friends, as time goes by I want to get closer to Jesus. So many times we get fast paced, working so much and thinking we are pleasing God, when many times He would rather have our fellowship.
Each day that goes by we are closer to heaven. Time is going by so fast!! Each day that goes by,
we need more of Him in our lives.
These days we are preaching true repentance, that judgment is coming, and that people need to be ready. Many souls are coming to Christ, and daily folks are getting committed to Jesus Christ. Many people only see Jesus as we present Him to them.
We have a great work to do!
Dad and mom have their 60th wedding anniversary coming up in September 12th. On the 6th of September we will celebrate with them at 2 PM at the Nursing Home where they live. On Saturday and Sunday, we have special meetings going on.
My son gets married on the 14th of September, Lord willing, so please pray for him and his fiancé.
The church in Capt Eneias needs chairs and music equipment for the church dedication. The Bairro industrial church needs a sound system. The Maceio church needs a roof. Maceio is a large area and we have 4 churches surrounding the city, and 14 more churches in nearby towns. The pastor at the Bahia church needs literature and he also needs tires for his car.
The Lord has been performing miracles! Pastor Sandro’s father was not expected to live - He was very sick with heart problems along with other needs. Jesus healed Him!! He is up and around!!
My Mom’s blood pressure and heart beat was very low and oxygen was also very low. When I arrived, I didn’t think she was going to make it. Dad prayed asking Jesus to rebuke the spirit of death and
I prayed asking Jesus to do His will. Thank the Lord, Jesus pulled her through!!
Many are wanting and getting ready for Baptism!

IT’S HARVEST TIME!
Dear Friends.
I greet you in the Precious Name of Jesus! We’ve had a busy past few months!! We were privileged to have Pastor Mike Lane and Evangelist Reggie Taylor with us. They preached tremendous sermons and were a blessing to the mission field. Now Sis. Abby Kirby has been with us. Another tremendous blessing to the mission field!
Souls are being saved as the word is being preached and miracles are happening daily. There was a sister that had a bacterial infection in her brain. She was in a coma and not expected to live. Jesus healed her!! We have been giving tracts and literature to catholic and trinity churches. Over 100 churches have been reached already. One pastor wants to be baptized with his 50 plus saints!!
This month of July, we focused on preaching to the rehab centers. Jesus has opened doors at 3 rehabs so far with around 25 people each. There are some wanting to be baptized! They are accepting the word of God very well.
We hold services at the rehab on midweek and bring them to church on Sundays. On midweek we can’t go because of other commitments, but we send other ministers in to teach and preach.
We are transporting folks from 3 rehab centers to church.
The churches here are growing! There are many places that needs the gospel, like Capt Eneias, Bocaiuva, Bambui, Bahia, Curvelo, as well as new places in the state of Alagoas. There are many more places also -
the harvest truly is plenteous but the laborers are few. We need 6 full time ministers to help us!!
We have many well qualified people to take the gospel to many areas and we have section leaders, however resources are needed. I have stretched myself thin to take the gospel to as many places as I have been able to.
There are some pastors and churches from America that used to support us in the past, but I have noticed some have stopped.
When I go to America I can raise funds for many pastors in Brazil and distribute much-needed supplies to them.
Time and time again we have borrowed money to keep the mission field going. The needs are overwhelming in Brazil, so do please pray for us!! We love and appreciate you and we are praying for you too!
We are taking a few days off - R and R - some
much needed vacation to get recharged and refreshed and then to get back full steam ahead again. With the Brazil economy so poor,
hotels are reasonable compared to the past.
For the past 26 years I’ve worked day and night and it’s caught up with me. Stress levels have been high at times, but Jesus is faithful!
On June 15th, we had a wonderful birthday party for Dad’s 90th birthday and mom’s 82nd birthday and their 58 year anniversary in Brazil doing missionary work. At Dad and mom’s birthday party there were people and leaders from 5 apostolic church groups of people Dad baptized years ago and started church organizations and fellowship … Many long time friends and saints.
Many pastors in Brazil need our prayers and support:
Pastor Manuel needs tires for His vehicle -approximately $450 dollars.
Pastor Renato needs engine work on His vehicle - about $550 dollars.
Pastor Renato also needs a drum set for singing for the church - he lacks 300 dollars to buy a used set.
Sister Marcia needs bunk beds and mattresses and bibles for their rehab center - $950 dollars approximately.
We purchased Jesus Christ Name Baptism tracts to give out to trinity churches - the cost was $520 dollars. It’s paid for already! Thank you Jesus!!

Greetings in the precious name of Jesus! Thank you for your prayers and support that enables me to work for Jesus in Brazil!
The reason I like working for Christ, building churches, and getting literature out is to win souls for the Lord. After I’m dead and gone, churches that I helped build, literature I gave out and people I won to the Lord will continue winning souls for Jesus and I’ll receive my reward.
I have strived to expand and go beyond training, empowering, and teaching people to work for Jesus. I have supported ministers. I have been able to help them with funds our supporters have provided for us, plus I have borrowed money to get more done for Christ and to reach souls. We have furnished supplies for many pastors. One day Jesus will reward us for what we have done for Him.
Jesus wants us to make disciples and this is what we are doing -- sending disciples out to expand the work of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Dad and Mom send their love and greetings. They are well and love to tell people of Jesus. They preach to everyone they meet. They have always been completely dedicated to God’s work!
The children also send their love and greetings and thank you for your prayers and support.

Miracles still happen on the mission field!! The biggest miracle is salvation! This year over 400 have been baptized in Jesus Christ’s name - thank you Jesus!! All the honor and glory belong to Him!
Sis. Maria De Lurdes received a miracle also! One of her legs was smaller than the other and she would limp as she walked. In prayer, God fixed that!!
Also, Romario was crippled due to an accident. While at a prayer meeting, Jesus has healed him!
Ana Paula could not have child. She is rejoicing with a daughter now!!
Jesus still heals -- all we need is to ask!!
The property below is a place Pastor Nilson would like to purchase. He has been a big soul winner and has baptized many souls. I’ve helped him build other churches and he has turned them over to other pastors and now wants to begin a new work.
He needs $18,600 to purchase this property. Your investment into God’s work will be a big help. No amount is too small or large! He would like to have a parsonage plus Sunday school class rooms and a sanctuary. This property needs a lot of work, but the price is reasonable and it has very good potential to be a great 1st apostolic church in this growing community.
Pastor George wrote the tract you see below, “Do You Want to Live in Heaven?” We need to print 30 thousand of these tracts and they will be a good investment in God’s work! The cost is $520. The print shop owner is apostolic from the UPC church in Brazil and he is giving us a big discount. This is below his cost.
Our God is big and I know He is well able to supply these important needs that I share with you from the missions field.

Dear Friends,
I greet you in the precious name of Jesus! Thank you for your prayers and support that enable us to work for Jesus in Brazil and the surrounding countries.
The work is large … bigger than I can explain … but God is filling people with the Holy Ghost and they are being baptized in Jesus’ name!!
Tragedy has struck one family in our church. The vast mud slide from the Vale Company that broke in Brazil has killed one of our saints from the Mario Campos Church. Rodrigo Miranda dos Santos is one of the many that has not been found buried in the mud as the dam broke. He was one of the employees on the job. He was a faithful saint to our Lord Jesus Christ. His wife and 3 children attend our church along with His mom, grandma and aunts and uncles. We will miss him. Please keep his family in your prayers.
This booklet “Focus on the Oneness: The Excellency of God’s Name” is a wonderful bible study Pastor Nilson has put together. We have printed 1500 to give out to a few areas. People are being baptized after they read this booklet. We need 10 thousand more to send out all over Brazil. They cost just under 1 dollar each. We have many pastors that need this tool and need our help to furnish the literature.
So far this year, 328 have been baptized and many filled with the Holy Ghost in multiple areas of Brazil. You are such an important part of this great revival of souls and we appreciate your financial support to Brazil.
There are inmates at 4 drug and alcohol rehab centers that need transportation to church. We can rent a small bus for 50 dollars to take them to church on Sunday. We are needing 4 small buses to take the folks to church; the total weekly cost would be $200 dollars for 4 buses to transport folks to church.
At one of our drug and alcohol rehab centers, we have baptized 6!! They have an old, broken down vehicle that needs many repairs but it’s what they have for now. They need $300 for tires and alignment plus $550 for front end parts and repairs plus repairs for the gear shift as soon as possible. I’m not sure what all else might be needed – I’m too scared to get into it for now.
It’s also our desire also to purchase a van to help transport saints. We need a van urgently and we know Jesus can supply!
One of our wonderful pastors from Manaus, Pastor Nonato Alves, went to be with the Lord the night before last and was buried today. He was 55 years old and leaves a wife, 3 children and a granddaughter. He was a pastor that won many to Jesus and we will miss him!

Dear Friends,
I greet you in the precious name of Jesus. Jesus is blessing the churches with new saints! Many tracts have gone out and many are getting saved daily such as should be saved.
Mom and Dad send love and greetings.
We are planning a trip to Campinas to see long time saints that have been won to the Lord. This is also the 1st church dad and mom helped to build in 1961.
The saints there have carried on God’s work and have helped build a few more churches as well.
The gospel in Brazil is growing and Jesus is blessing!
Last night, we had about 30 first time visitors from a drug and alcohol rehab center nearby. They came to worship Jesus with us at the Sereno church property.
We have sent Bro Jaime to Capitão Eneas to rent a hall and gather the new saints to get them ready to baptize. We sent money to buy chairs and music equipment and to paint the rented hall. This location is 7 hours away by car.
Pastor Nilson is helping us with evangelizing new areas.
We have many places that need the gospel and we rely on our Brazil pastors and their people to help us establish churches in many areas.
We have sent literature to many parts of Brazil.
The ministers are filled with joy as new souls are coming to Christ. Pastor Sandro from Maceio needs more literature. This month he has a team ready to go and evangelize a new area.
The children from the center and the drug and alcohol rehab center are growing in faith.

Time is flying so fast! We have purchased a motor for Pastor Joao Batista’s bicycle so he can reach distances that are too far to walk. He is 3 hour drive away from us.
Many are also being healed as they ask Jesus for help!

Then said He unto His disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth labourers into His harvest.
A miracle on the mission field:
A young man named Romario was in a bad accident; he was on a motorcycle with a friend and they crashed with a bus. His friend didn't make it. Romario was sent to the hospital
with his brain partly gone. Surgery after surgery was done and he was sent home to die.
Because of the feeding tube, He could not speak and was crippled from the neck down.
His father had faith and was crying; and my wife prayed for him numerous times and told him Jesus is completely healing him. Thank you Jesus, for He is still healing and saving people! Romario is now able to talk, he is now walking, and getting around and feeding himself. We’re praying for a complete healing, but what a difference Jesus has made!
Mom and dad are at a nursing home where they are still winning souls to the Lord! We celebrated Dad and Mom’s 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 8th (their Anniversary was the 12th). Many ministers were with us. Workers at the nursing home are learning the Word of God and we are directing them to our churches.
On Sept. 9th, we baptized 6 new souls in the precious name above every name! These people were from the drug and alcohol rehab center. The drug and rehab needs help to feed the people in the rehab and to pay wages for their staff and to pay for the expensive lights and water bill! There are 30 people at the rehab we need help.
Pastor Jonias baptized 4 more in north eastern Brasil. While he was on the way there, the roads being as bad as they are, he lost 3 tires to blow outs.
Be much in prayer for Brasil. God is moving and the devil is mad; we have been having many difficulties and persecution but Jesus is faithful!
There is also so much persecution to our church in Bolivia - pray please for the people there!
As we can, we need to buy 100 thousand more tracts and literature, this time on the Holy Ghost, to give out. These last days we are preaching true repentance and Jesus Name baptism and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. Col. 3:17
Please be much in prayer for PTB and Sereno and the churches there. What a struggle to get a work for God started. Also, please pray for the Bambui church and Capt. Eneias and Montes Claros and Vitoria and Maceio churches. I want to produce more fruit for Jesus!
Please also pray for our children at the children’s center - they need our help. Many of our pastors need bicycles with motors, as well as tires for vehicles and motorcycles. We have pastors needing literature and chairs and music equipment. The needs are many, but I know God can supply.
The pastors of our churches and many children are in desperate need of help. Thank you so much for what you have done and will be doing. I have struggled and been away from my family so much in order to raise funds to better help the saints of Brasil. I love you all.

Last, but not least, we need an artisan well in Brasil at the Sereno church property. In the US, we take water for granted – it is so readily available. This is not the case in all areas of Brasil. We should be able to get this for 6 thousand dollars - Our Jesus is able to provide!!

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever.
Dear Friends,
I greet you in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ! Jesus has been so good to us in so many ways! What a wonderful time to be working for Him!!
We are excited to report that 968 have been baptized this year among the numerous locations combined here in Brazil where we are working!
On September 1st, our Daughter is getting married Lord willing. Our little baby is 19 and God is blessing her with a husband. Wedding planning is stressful, so please pray for us and for our daughter’s special day! I pray the best for her and pray they stay married and full of the Holy Ghost and on fire for God!
We had special services all day Friday and Saturday and Sunday, August 10-12th with saints from 8 states of Brazil in attendance. On Sunday night August 12th, we had a wonderful prayer service and preaching and 27 were healed from body pains and sickness, and felt God moving on them. Nineteen (19) were filled with the Holy Ghost!! Jesus is still saving such as should be saved!
For the past 25 years, we have been working in this large country of Brazil and we've helped build 62 churches, where we have been sending literature, tracts, and bible studies etc all over. It’s hard to keep up with all the ministers to get updates on all of them, so the reports we send are from some and not all of the churches. Many are in remote areas and it is hard to reach them regularly. We have lead pastors in numerous areas.
We need to purchase 100 thousand more tracts and bible studies. It’s going to cost $5,065 but I know God will supply so I've ordered them already.
Pastor Juarez is here from Bahia, a 14 hour drive away. He came to the meetings and I loaded him up with literature. He jumped with joy numerous times because he was so happy to receive the literature to share with neighboring pastors. He is in a remote area and not able to get literature and he couldn't afford to buy it. I’m happy to get it printed up so our pastors have material to work with.
We have 6 new church locations and 6 pastors starting churches: Sereno, Bambui, Espirito Santo, Capt Eneias, Montes Claros, and Maceio. We have purchased benches and music equipment for these rented halls. New people are coming and committing their lives to the Lord. Pastors Nilson, Jose Edson, Jaime, Sandro, Juarez and Joao Batista as well as my wife and I are working hard at these new locations. I thank the Lord for my good wife. She is very dedicated to God’s work.
Please pray for Pastor John Batista who is working in Bambui. He is a church starter and planter. He is in need of a bicycle with a motor to help him get around. He can get one for $300 – if the Lord should impress you to help, that would be a huge blessing!
My father and mother are witnessing as they can to people. They have won many to the Lord. Many of the pastors in Brasil have been baptized by my father.
Please be in much prayer for Bolivia. Our saints are being persecuted and the government wants to jail people for teaching the word of God.
In Peru, we have 2 locations and we have local pastors. I need to go and check on the work there.
Brazil needs your prayers! Unemployment is very high! The Presidential election is coming up.
If the communist get in again, Brazil will be as “finished” as Venezuela.
This last Monday, I preached at a drug and alcohol rehab center. The manager and a few more want to get baptized in Jesus name! So we will be getting ready for this in the next few days should the Lord permit. The sad part is there are 11 drug rehab centers near where we live because of the great need for them.
Our hope is in Jesus! Time is short!! Jesus is coming!! We still have so much to do for God!

Miracles and a Great Harvest!
“Say not ye, There are yet four months, and
then cometh the harvest? Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” John 4:35
“Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.” John 15:3-4
Dear Friends,
Jesus wants us to produce more fruit. That is our desire! Jesus paid a high price with His life for us and we want to work as much as possible so Jesus can have His reward for His suffering. God told Adam to be fruitful and multiply – that was his desire. When we obey this command, we are thinking spiritually. As Christians, we need to generate Christians.
Missionary Donald and Marjorie Barber are being fruitful! They are winning souls, even in their senior years. My father has been an amazing soul winner and my mother is a godly role model in her fasting and praying. They send their greetings and love to all of you.
I have ordered another 15 thousand tracts and bible studies to give out in new areas, bringing the total pieces of literature printed to 260 thousand pieces!!
Thank you so much for helping us get the Word of God out to the unsaved!
There is a big harvest of souls coming to Christ. Since we last wrote, 67 new people have been baptized in the precious name of Jesus. In many remote areas, there are alligators in the waters where people get baptized, but Jesus helps and protects our ministers!
Church services have been wonderful! God’s presence has been strong! Eyes have been healed! Diabetes has been healed! Cancers are gone! Barren women are pregnant! People with migraines in the past have been healed!! Jesus is wonderful!!
Thinking of the sower and the seed in the bible… The sower knew what he was doing. The seeds fell on the good soil as well as the wayside and rocky soil. Some did not produce as much, but he still sowed because he knew the seed was going to do what it’s supposed to do. The seed that fell on the good soil produced 30-fold, 60-fold or 100-fold.
How much are we producing?
Thank you for your prayers and the financial support you have sent in. We thank you for your sacrificial giving!!
Please be much in prayer for PTB and Sereno as we are getting new works started there and we have had much persecution and struggles. But we know Jesus can give us the victory!
Our children from the children’s center send their love! We lack approximately $50 per day to buy food for them.
The current unemployment level in Brazil is 40% and many are so poor. I hear regularly, even daily, from the pastors asking me for help and I have borrowed to help them, but I need to repay these loans, so I have had to turn them away.
We have been made aware that the post office has lost some of our checks and that at least 3 checks were not cashed. If you could help us by checking to see if you have a sent a check that was not cashed and let us know, that would be very helpful. It is possible we did not receive it.

Dear Friends,
Praise Him! We are so happy to be able to write again. We are having a wonderful move of God in Brazil. Many are repenting of their sins and being baptized. Many also are being healed as they have faith and ask God for healing!
Many times when church service is out, people starting singing and worshiping the Lord all over again! We have had church services start at 6 pm and many stay until 11:30 pm! Fellowship in God’s house is so important, for it is here that miracles happen!
I have come to America for a few weeks to visit a few churches and to raise funds for missions. I have 62 churches and pastors that depend on God and me to help them with missions expenses. Daily there are 2 or 3 needs that come up and we have to see to it.
So when you support Souls For Christ, you are not just supporting the Barber families, you are supporting many ministers and many churches who would have to “go without” food and other things that we assist with.
We passed out one tract to a person – after they received it and were baptized, that one person brought 61 more people to church! What an impact!!
Souls are hungry for God. Our hope is in Jesus!
Please pray for our persecuted saints here in Brazil.
Our biggest enemy is our lack of resources. We do want to expand and reach into other areas that have not heard the gospel. We have ministers wanting to go and work for God. But we lack bus fare, the funds to rent halls, chairs and sound equipment and the support these ministers need to start churches and still feed their own families.
I heard of someone that paid a 19 thousand dollar vet bill for their pet, but then their pet died a year later. Don’t get me wrong – I’m glad pets are well taken care (though in Brazil they are not). We have children and ministers going hungry in Brazil, and sometimes in wealthier countries, more money is spent on pets than missions.
Finances have been coming in slowly and I am very thankful and appreciate those that send in missions offerings.
It would help so much if other people would get involved and if we could recruit many more supporters.
I thank the Lord for the dedicated supporters, but I just need more partners in missions. Bro. Kunihiro passed away and most of that support is gone. Dad cannot travel as before, so the burden is on me.
One day I would like to hear the Lord say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
Thank you for what you have done for Jesus in the country of Brazil. Give until it feels good! Jesus will reward you for what you do for him!

As Christmas approaches, we are happy to inform you that we have 3 churches in the final phases of building! We would like to finish the Mario Campos, Imbirucu and Bahia churches before Christmas!!
Three New Churches for Jesus
For Christmas !!
Our people are working full steam ahead, giving their love and time and effort as a Christmas gift to Jesus in getting these buildings completed. With the offerings and loans I’ve obtained, we were able to purchase most of the materials and our own people are donating what they are able and laboring hard to get the work done.
Our people are also getting the printed tracts out in record numbers – thank the Lord! As the churches in Brazil grow, you are growing, because you are partners in missions with us.
We want to do something special for our 287 children and 22 workers/staff at the Children’s Center if we can. There are links to the pictures of our children and facility at our website at

I am asking our saints in Brazil to be more dedicated to the Lord, to give out literature and to always win souls for our Lord and Savior. We have a group of saints going out at night to evangelize. They are doing a good work and many souls are coming to the Lord!
Many are coming to Jesus and being baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost due to the 190 thousand plus tracts and bible studies that have been given out all over Brazil.
The harvest is now! Souls are hungry for Jesus!! We are casting the net to win souls for Jesus and people are being changed and transformed.
There is much persecution in Brazil – please be in prayer for us!! We know if Jesus is for us, who can be against us?
In 2016, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, 436 police officers died both on and off duty. Crime has been high all over and we covet your prayers for protection for our churches and saints as well as for all the people of Brazil.
I’m asking Jesus for more partners in missions so we can reach new areas. When we complete the building of the 3 churches mentioned earlier, we want to be able to reach out and work in new areas that need the gospel.
Thank you for your prayers for my son – he is doing well after surgery. Thank the Lord he has come closer to Jesus.
Last, but not least, we want to thank Bishop and Sis. Mobley for receiving and depositing our mailed in offerings. Thank you to Sis. Lana Wright for being such a big help with my website. Praise the Lord! He has been so wonderful!!
I asked the printer to print 20 thousand bible studies to give out to people in new areas that need the Word of God. We have 2 people daily giving them out to 9 communities in 3 weeks time. We endeavor to work for our Jesus and He has been mighty good to us .
I’ve been getting in contact with our ministers who live some distance from us and the reports are exciting! Eleven (11) souls more have been baptized in the precious name of Jesus and sixteen (16) have been filled with the Holy Ghost! Praise the Lord!!
We started a new church in PTB Santa Cruz and thank the Lord He is blessing the services with His presence. Pastor Namaan from Rio wants to come and help us. We need sponsors to help extra if possible. He needs a place to live. He and his fiancé are getting married in December and he wants to come in January. Pastor Namaan needs $200 dollars monthly to help him pay rent, water and lights in order to live while he helps us with numerous churches - mainly Santa Cruz. He receives disability already because he is confined to a wheel chair but we know God is able to provide.

So I still have $52 thousand in mission field loans to pay. No loans are late and many of the loans have low interest rates. Our God is able!
My son, Phillip had a tumor on his lower back. We took him to the doctors and they needed to do surgery on Him. The Saturday before surgery he received prayer - thank the Lord - and he believes God touched him. On Monday the surgery was successful. His surgery cost $2656 (Two thousand six hundred and fifty six dollars). The doctor is sending the tumor to do a biopsy. I believe Jesus can take care of this!! This medical bill is also part of our loan.
In your prayers, pray for Pastor Messias who is wanting to work for Jesus in Montes Claros.
Also pray for the city of Jaiba as people are in desperate situation.
Pray for all of Brasil! The economy is in worse shape than the past 30 years. Our Pastors and preachers lack the basic needs of life. Our children’s center depends on us heavily.
Two young people I’ve ministered to in years past in the children’s center have started to preach!
I must be getting old!! God help me!
In Manaus, after church service on a Monday night the Pastor’s wife fixed a type of fish soup. When I got my portion out of the big dish, there was a fish head and eye looking at me!! It was almost in my plate. I decided to stir that bowl some more and selected another piece of fish. On the mission field, my father always asked me to eat what is on my plate --- this time I made sure it didn't get there! The local pastor was so happy to get that fish head – it’s a specialty to them! I was real glad he wanted it. Jesus is so good!

Since our last newsletter, in multiple places across our beautiful country, there have been 49 baptized in Jesus’ name and 35 filled with the Holy Ghost! Isn’t that great news?! There are
11 new souls in Neves M G.
We were extremely happy to have Sis. Sebastiana here from Goiás. She is a
long time friend and has been a big help to our work for Jesus in that large state of Goiás.
Also, Pastor Wilson Vono from Southern Brazil was with us a few days preaching the word of God and giving us an update on the work in southern Brazil.
As usual, we have been very busy working for the Lord and Jesus is moving mightilyin Brazil and the surrounding countries.
Currently we have Bro. Nanam from Paraná. He lives in Rio and he came to preach at surrounding churches in our area and also brought good news to us of the churches there.
At one time, Bro. Nanam was crippled in his arms and legs, but Jesus has healed him and his arms are now in perfect working condition.
Bro Arnaldo testified of God’s goodness to him since he came to Christ.
Another brother in church is cancer free after prayer! Amen!! We are staying busy in evangelism daily. Pastor Paulo Lourenco is very active with many other ministers taking the Gospel to new areas.
Pastor Jose Edson and Pastor Miguel and Pastor Messias preached the Capt Eneias crusade. Many new souls attended and we are praying they will completely repent of their sins and turn their lives to the Lord.
We need to order another 20 thousand tracts to get out to villages not yet reached. We anticipate the approximate cost will be $1200. Souls are coming to the Lord daily such as should be saved.
Please pray for the people of Brazil. The job situation is critical - many are needing and are desperate for a job. Crime has gone up. Taxes are outrageous! Gasoline is 4 dollars a gallon and higher!
Even though, with all these things, Jesus has been moving tremendously in our services! Oh! the wonderful presence of God! Eighty-one (81) have repented of their sins in different parts of Brazil. We have been extremely busy getting the Word out to people, preaching and giving out literature.
In the past 3 years, we have purchased over 10 thousand dollars of literature to share with 5 countries free of charge to preachers in needy areas of Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Columbia and Uruguay. We need more literature to get out to unreached areas.
The Lord is healing many people as they ask and have faith to believe for miracles.
My wife has been healed of allergies. I had an ongoing head ache for over 3 weeks and God has healed this headache. Sis Denise’s son had a bacterial infection in the brain which caused him to be a very slow learner, bringing many complications, and Jesus has healed him!
Bro. Carlos was in a severe motorcycle accident - his head was crushed in a lot. The doctors said he was paralyzed for life, never to walk or talk again; he had a feeding tube, but no more! Jesus completely healed him, even with part of his brain gone! He is functioning normally! God is AMAZING!!
The new church is going well. We have started it with very humble beginnings and we're having wonderful services souls are coming to the Lord. The children at the center are telling their moms and dads about Jesus.
Pastor Jose Edson has labored 21 years in Montes Claros, caring for one of our churches we have built over the years. Pastor Jose Edson’s son got married last month and a few years ago moved back to our area because of the severe poverty where he lived.
The church in Montes Claros has grown tremendously with the saints getting dedicated to the Lord.
Please pray for all of our churches that are reaching souls for the Lord. Our God is able to open doors so that we can reach the lost! Many of our churches have very humble beginnings and many saints are struggling to get by but Jesus is able to provide for them.
Many people need ride to church. I have purchased 2 vehicles on credit to help transport the saints to church. We are working with the young people and also the children to get them in church. Souls are being added to the church daily – thank the Lord!!
Please pray for Sis. Alcina - pastor Divino's wife - she has had 3 strokes and is in need of a complete healing!
Please also hold Sis. Inez up in prayer - she is a warrior for Jesus. Her husband, Pastor Joaquim, pastored years ago and he did a fine job building over 10 starter churches.
Please pray for Bro. Walter. Severe rain in the past ruined the road he lives on and a big retaining wall fell on top of his home, almost killing his 2 daughters and destroying his home. He has been a big help to us in church work and he has many health problems, and now is in need of rebuilding his home. The city, as usual, is not wanting to help even though it’s their fault.
I do need to get a new battery and fix my car. In Brazil, prices are extremely high due to taxes. I’ll need to spend approximately $920 for these car repairs.
We have a lot of work to do for our Lord and we thank you for your many prayers and support and deeply appreciate your financial generosity for the work in Brazil. May the Lord continue to bless you!

Praise the Lord Friends!!
We greet you in the precious name of Jesus!
Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am He; I am the first, I also am the last. All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The Lord hath loved him; he will do His pleasure on Babylon, and His arm shall be on the Chaldeans. I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous. Is. 48:12-15
I am happy to be able to write again! We serve a wonderful Savior that loves us and cares for us. We are thankful to report that 47 more have been baptized in Jesus’ name and many filled with the Holy Ghost!! The Lord is saving daily such as should be saved.
Our people from Brazil had a wonderful conference in Sao Paulo. I was not able to attend but we sent some ministers who brought back a good report.
Please pray for our upcoming July 28-30 conference to be held at Neves Minas Gerais state; we are praying many receive the Holy Ghost. This is the location where we had prayed for rain – the area had not had rain for a year – and within an hour it began raining and rained Saturday and Sunday. We are expecting between 700-1000 Christians to attend. Many funds were invested for this conference and we are excited about what God is going to do here.
During this same time period, we also will send some ministers to assist Bro. Jaime in holding a special crusade to win some new people at Capitao Eneias. They will be holding this crusade at a public school. Many expenses and much labor was invested for this crusade and we plan to have a marvelous time in the presence of God.
Brazil is such a large country and our work is in many different locations. We have people in most regions of Brazil, with 61 ministers working for the kingdom of God – on the front line! These ministers have full time jobs and also pastor churches; these churches are also trying to reach out to new communities. Some ministers have stayed put in one area of Brazil, but I believe a missionary is to reach and take the gospel to all the nation. We have won new people for the Lord in multiple areas.
We praise the Lord for healing Pastor John’s wife, Pastor Wilson’s wife and my wife! Bro. Isaias has recuperated well. Also Pastor Onório was crippled and did walk for 4 months and Jesus healed him!
Pastor Wagner is opening up a brand new church location. He has gathered some new souls that want to live for Christ. He has 46 people in his congregation – many of them stand in the church services because they do not have enough seats. That’s a good problem to have – the body of Christ is growing!
Soon we will start a new church in PTB. It is a city of 25,000 people and the first service, Lord willing, will be May 28th. We don’t have water and electricity yet, but we are working on it. Pastor Honorio will be helping me with the location. We have been reaching out to the unchurched and people are hungry and are responding, making sincere commitments and saying they want and need a church and want to serve Jesus. In the past 3 days, I have won 7 souls to Christ with minimal effort! The results have been amazing and it is a prime time to start a church in this city.
When we mean business with God – as in the bible – Oh what miracles we can see!! Massive walls fell flat to the ground in Jericho! Mountains moved! The sun stood still! Lions went on a fast! The rain stopped until the man of God said for it to rain! The furnace could not burn God’s people! Prison doors opened! The sick were healed and the dead were raised! Food was multiplied and people were delivered! The sea opened up! Oh! What a mighty God we serve!!
I refuse to live a regular life! I like to see miracles happen!! In God’s presence, we can see big things happen. Let’s pray for our churches in Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia and Uruguay for God to move, save, heal and meet the many needs in these congregations.
Our church people in Uruguay need a new church roof. We have many ministers in Brazil that need our help. Jesus did say to go into all the world with the gospel – the needs are many but God blesses us for what we do for Him. Perhaps your church would like to do a special fundraiser for the missions in Brazil – that would be wonderful! Maybe a spaghetti dinner, a yard sale, a car wash, a special singing for missions event or a Vacation Bible School offering for missions? Every offering and donation is so desperately needed and will be used to meet the needs in our churches in Brazil.
Thank you for all you do for the kingdom of God. We love and appreciate you and pray for you daily.

Dear Friends,
We greet you in Jesus’ name!
We are excited to report that at the surrounding area churches, we have 47 people getting baptized in Jesus’ precious name and a week ago, 19 received the Holy Ghost!!
I have asked the print shop to print out 1200 more Bible study books to distribute to the many hungry souls here in Brazil.
When we have passed out some bibles on the mission field, many of those receiving the bibles have kissed them. It is like giving candy to a kid! They were SO happy! These books will probably cost about $3500.
At the Curvelo crusade, several repented of their sins. Some people walked for hours to get to the meetings to hear about Jesus! While the mission field is not getting any easier – the devil is fighting us – I want to be faithful until He comes for me. We need your prayers. Hold us up in prayer as we labor here in Brazil that God would bring hungry souls to us, that we would be protected from the attack of the enemy and that our many financial concerns would be taken care of.
Matthew 9:35-38 - …”pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest.” While you may not physically be here, when you give, you “labor” with us!
The Apostle Peter – through faith – walked on the water. As a missionary, I have seen amazing things that Jesus has done. Even though I owe a lot in loans taken to further the kingdom of God in Brazil, God has always backed me up. It’s not a worry for me, because soon everything is paid! It is God’s work. I’m a little crazy, but God has been mighty good!!
We need good vehicles to travel and to take ministers to crusades.
Many times we travel 800 miles in one day over roads that are not too good. I gave my car to Pastor Sandro in northeastern Brazil, so I needed to buy a car ($9400) in December 2015 – it was used but I borrowed the money in America where the interest rates are much lower.
I am aggressive on repaying the loans. The economy is so harsh in Brazil. At one point, the value of the dollar was higher and we could get more for the dollar, but now it has decreased in value. When I share our financial needs with you, it is so that you can pray for these needs to be met. The needs are many but our God is good!! Many of the saints at these churches are also poor and give what they are able to.
I was asked to share about some needs from the individual churches here in Brazil:
We have about 11 churches in northeastern Brazil including the cities of Maceio and Tabuleiro with about 480 baptized saints. Pastor Sandro is the main pastor and my overseer for that region. There are two churches under construction. We could use two cars in this area (about $14 thousand). The walls, concrete floor, roof, doors and windows for one church and the roof for another church will cost about $16,500 for construction supplies.
In northwestern Brazil, Pastor Joao Cavalgante and his church of 60 people worship in a field. We want to erect a church here on a foundation that is already in place and estimate the walls and roof at $11 thousand. Pastor Joao needs a car and can acquire one for about $3 thousand.
At the Mario Campos church, Pastor Jose has baptized 65 people in Jesus name! They are in need of a building - a concrete floor and roof are needed at a cost of $4 thousand.
The Imbirucu Church, Pastor Elifas has 85 in attendance and they are in need of funds to complete their building. The floor, wall and roofing could be finished for $8200.
Pastor George, at the Larangeiras church, has 72 in attendance. They need to fix four Sunday School rooms, as well as install some lighting and plumping, some walls and doors - $7400 would cover these costs. Pastor needed a car here as well at $5800.
Please pray for the Jaiba church. The pastor there died in January. His funeral costs were about $4300. Jaiba is a 10 hour drive from where we live and it is a very difficult area. Not many are willing to go and labor in the field. Hold the body of Christ in Jaiba up in prayer for a new pastor and for laborers to go to this harvest field and work for the kingdom of God for souls here. A car is also needed at this church so that church work can be done ($3500).
At Montes Claros, Pastor Jose Edson Galdino could use some funds to help start a church and building a facility to worship in ($2800).
In southern Brazil, Pastor Wilson Vono is in need of a car ($3500). He has a congregation of 82 saints.
Please pray for our children’s center – there are so many needy children that we minister to here. We feed and clothe them as we are able, but we must also minister to their losses and emotional wounds. We need to build 2 bathrooms here as well as a classroom and supplies are needed ($12,600).
So the needs are MANY – we serve a big God, a faithful God and He comes through to meet these needs. And your faithful support makes a huge difference in meeting these needs. Your brothers and sisters in Christ in Brazil thank you for your giving and your faithfulness.

Dear Friends,
Praise the Lord! It is good to be able to write again. As usual, we have been extremely busy but Jesus has been mighty good!!
On March 17th we will be celebrating 24 years as a Missionary at work in His kingdom! This is a great milestone and we give God all the glory for using us for His work here in the vast and beautiful country of Brazil.
Many have been baptized so far this year and many have received the Holy Ghost – we thank the Lord for this early harvest. There are also many new ministers wanting to work for the Lord. In Matthew 9 verses 35 to 38 we read,
"The harvest is plenteous but the laborers are few”
We are working day and night wanting to be effective and do God's will before he returns - He will reward us for our labors.
The children at the center are growing and spiritually getting closer to the Lord. They send their love and greetings. Our pastors are working day and night - working in multiple areas - as we have many places that need the gospel. We wear ourselves out. Our vehicles are in need of repairs and tires, etc. We will keep going until He comes.
We have 5 churches under construction. We have 6 new preaching points where our ministers and I are helping. As churches become established, we move on to new areas that need churches. Please pray for Brazil as many have come to the Lord but still many need to be saved.
We had a wonderful crusade in Curvelo and three turned their lives to the Lord. I've been praying for this location for the past 22 years! One man walked 4 miles one way to be in church service. After service as we drove back, after we drove one mile we saw him walking and we gave him a ride; he told us he still lived 3 miles away. People are hungry for God. Many of our pastors need chairs and musical equipment for their churches.
We have paused a little with our church construction so that we can catch up with our loans. Nothing is late but we want to pay up what we've borrowed. Your financial support helps us with repaying our construction loans – we thank you!

I greet you in the precious name of Jesus. We thank you for your prayers, cards and most generous financial support that enables us to work for God in Brazil.
“…how then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” Romans 10:13-17
You help fulfill this scripture when you give so that we can go and minister to the hungry in this vast country. Thank you for giving!
We are happy to share with you that we have four new converts who just came to Christ – John, Jefferson, Andrew and Jessica. And 27 more souls were baptized in Jesus’ name and 28 were filled with the Holy Ghost! Please pray for all of our teenagers – including Phillip and Jenny - they need your prayers! Church services have been wonderful – God is moving!!
We are excited to share of several miracles too! Pastor Marcondes has been healed of kidney stones! Pastor Rangel has been healed of cancer! Sis. Cavalgante was extremely sick and is now healed! There are too many others to mention, but God knows and to Him all the Honor and Glory is due!!
We are saddened to share of the passing of two of our great pastors. On January 9th, Pastor Valter, Jr., our pastor in Jaiba for 9 years, passed away. Soon after we started this work, we placed him there. He was very dedicated. The church there needs our prayers. This area is extremely poverty stricken – you would have to be there to understand – and we need to pay the funeral expenses because of the poverty. We do have a new location in Jaiba and our people are starting a new church.
Then on January 11th, Pastor Paulo Afonso passed away. He started with us at least 46 years ago and was dedicated to the cause. He left a good paying job to reach souls in the state of Goias and he helped establish this work. He also worked in Neves the past few years – a very needy area where he helped people come to the Lord. And he was also responsible for training many good pastors.
Please keep the 287 children at the children’s center in your prayers – these children need your support and prayers daily. We thank God for the dedicated team working with these children. You can assist by your donations or even by sponsoring a child.
We would like to start a few other programs as well. We want to start feeding the needy elderly and to start a rehabilitation program for the alcohol and drug addicted but we will need sponsors for these programs as well. Please keep these programs in your prayers. We are selecting church people to help us organize these new programs.
We currently have five churches under construction – Mario Campos, Imbiricu, Manaus, Maceio and Iarangeiras. And we have a few locations where we are getting a church started – Capt Eneias, Montes Claros, Caratinga, Curvelo and the Country of Peru.
Dear friends….the needs are many but our God is able! The expenses on the missions field have been many. Years ago, Bro. Kunihiro and my father had good supporters and they would travel to raise funds. But Bro. Kunihiro has passed away and most of that support was lost. My father, at 87 years of age, is unable to go and raise funds. While it has been difficult, I have tried to step up and carry on the work.
Most of my own children’s lives, I have been away from them working on the missions field. Often I would leave to get on the road before my children wake up and they are in bed before I return late at night. The missions field is a very busy place and makes many demands on my time.
I appreciate all of your help and ask each of you to help raise funds for missions in Brazil. It would be a huge blessing to have more support mailed in. We have 84 thousand dollars in upcoming needs. Please help me pray about this great need. It might seem like a lot, but Jesus Christ is able to supply all our needs according to His riches! If anyone could and would want to give extra, now is a good time! I enjoy going to America and seeing my friends and raising funds, but please pray with me that more people will have a burden to help lighten this financial load.
There are many souls waiting for the Gospel. Like Jesus said in Matthew 9:37-38 …”the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth labourers into His harvest.” Your kind support makes a way for us to reach the hungry with His Word here in Brazil.
Unfortunately, we had a break in at our home in early December and many of our things are gone. Many of our papers were taken. About $400 was stolen. We are really thankful that, this time, they did not take the computer. We were not home – I was in America raising funds and my wife and children were not at home. We are thankful for this! There is extreme poverty all over Brazil and, unfortunately, some think they can take what they want from others.
We are preparing to send your 2016 contributions letter out to you. If your receipt appears to be different than the amount you gave, please let us know and we will gladly revise it. All donations to our non-profit are tax exempt. We have our own 501(c)3 tax exempt status with the IRS.

Praise the Lord! It’s good to be able to write again. We wish each of you a Merry Christmas and we pray you have a Blessed New Year in 2017!! We thank you for your prayers and support in the past. May God bless you for all you do in supporting His Kingdom by supporting us in Brazil!
We have several praise reports to share with you!
In November (20), 10 new souls were baptized in the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ at the tropical church pastored by Bro. Jose Eliodoro – the pastor my wife won to the Lord years ago. In addition, 17 were filled with the Holy Ghost! Praise the Lord!! God is saving daily such as should be saved!
Brother Mike was having daily headaches and Jesus blessed him with a healing!
Dad and Mom are doing well and we praise the Lord for this! They witness to many people. They have been on the mission field now 55 years!! Over the years, some of their supporters have gone on to be with the Lord and so they are in need of more monthly supporters in their ministry work. Please hold this need up in prayer.
My wife went to Manaus to speak to the sisters at a conference. There were about 700 sisters in attendance and they had a Holy Ghost meeting with God moving and saving many people. Some that were cold in the Lord renewed their commitments to serve the Lord!
We would like to share some of the needs we currently are working to complete.
We need to pay for the concrete floor at the Mario Campos church. This need is $3900.

The children at the center send a hug and kiss to you. We have a few kids that need to be sponsored. Please pray for them!
My wife and I need some kitchen cabinets and some paint for the house. We estimate this need at $2100. If you would like to help with this need, that would be wonderful! I hate to ask, but we've gone without many times to take care of needs in the mission field of Brazil where God has placed us.
Pastor Sandro also needs our help to buy a good used car for the mission field in Northwestern Brazil.
Cars are more expensive in Brazil than in America. He is helping the church full time and he oversees the northwestern churches, needing to travel to 12 churches some 600 miles away.

God has been at work in South America in 2016. In multiple areas of Brazil, Bolivia, and Peru:
150,000 tracts have been handed out in the past 6 months.
9,000 Bible studies have been given.
220 have been baptized in the name of Jesus:
36 in January
42 in February
56 in March
86 in April
Because of rough roads in Brasil, we lost two used tires this month. We travel and go many miles to tend to the churches in surrounding Brazil.
Please pray for my health. Please pray for the churches still under construction.
We still have loans to pay on what we have done, but as we can we are putting a dent on the payments.
Pray for Pastor Messias as he wishes to go to Montes Claros and do a work for God there. It’s a large city and it could use 3 or 4 churches at the very least.
Brazil is going thru a very difficult time --please pray for our persecuted saints.
We want to serve Christ till he comes.
We have many ministers that need our help and depend on us. Our pastors lack the basic needs of life. They are struggling tremendously. It’s so hard to live in Brazil and see our brothers and sisters in severe situations. It’s hard to explain it. Please pray!

Please pray for Brazil! The president has openly said he believes in the power of the devil. He has also been saying he wants to take the bible out of the hands of people so Brazil cannot be a 1st world country and He wants to close the churches. Little does he know the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church. Persecution makes the church grow!
